Wives and girlfriends of 141 Speedway drivers in all six divisions will be admitted free of charge to the races on Saturday night, June 16. “We want to reward the great women who stand behind their drivers, putting up with the long hours in the shop all summer long,” said track promoter Bruce Conard. “It’s the least we can do for them.” Free beer, soda and food will be available at the grandstand pavilion. A hot humid afternoon welcomed 5 divisions to the Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway. The humid temperatures made for a tacky surface as the feature events started under sunny skies. ames Anderson and Todd Polster started on the front row for the Lackie Rentals and Remodeling Street Stocks as they rolled out first on the evening. Polster got the early holeshot into turn one and battled Marcus Moede for the first 8 circuits of the race. As Anderson faded, Gene Sternard made a move to the top 3 and let Polster pull away during a heated battle with Moede. But just past halfway Sternard pushed Moede just hard enough that as Polster caught lap traffic the top 3 were nose to tail, with a handful of laps left Moede pulled alongside Polster and grabbed the lead for good. Polster held on for second with sternward in tow, third. Dennis Weidner and Marvin Denny rounded out the top 5. Press Release (05-11-12)

There were some firsts at Shawano Speedway, while some streaks came to an end. Brett Swedberg won his first-ever WISSOTA Late Model feature at the Speedway, while Jeff Curtin snapped Joel Bennett’s win streak in the FASTRAK Late Model feature. Jason Czarapata won the IMCA Modified feature, with his cousin, Brandon Czarapata, winning the IMCA Stock Car feature. Jake Solin won the IMCA Northern SportMod feature. Press Release (05-11-12)

It was the "Kyle and Kyle" show Saturday night at 141 Speedway, as Green Bay's "Kyle" Lentz motored around Mishicot's "Kyle" Kudick on the final lap to capture the modified feature at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek on Custom Windows Plus/1st Choice Auto night. A total of 141 cars checked in to do battle. The field included 24 modifieds, 15 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 30 stock cars, 24 Tisler Salvage street stocks, 31 IMCA northern sportmods and 17 sport fours. Press Release (05-11-12)

“Felix” Todd Dart was victorious in the 20 lap IMCA Modified Main at Luxemburg Speedway. Dart grabbed the lead on lap four on his way to victory. Point leader Tom Brumlic enhanced his point lead after his win in the IMCA Hobby Stock feature. Brandon Czarapata (IMCA Stockcars) and Brian Bruechert (IMCA Sportmods) earned their second feature wins in their respective divisions. Ralph Liegeois won his fourth 4 Cylinder feature. This Sunday April 22nd points racing will get underway to crown the 2012 Champions. All five regular divisions will be in action including The Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stockcars, IMCA Northern Sportmods, Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders. Racing will get underway at 5 p.m. starting this Sunday all the way until May 27th, which is The first Summer Holiday classic. Racing will then start at 6 p.m. for the rest of the season. New Franken’s Shawn Kilgore sprinted from his pole position and kept Green Bay’s Benji LaCrosse at bay to capture the opening night modified feature at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek. A new weekly record 167 cars checked in to do battle. The field included 33 modifieds, 20 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 31 stock cars, 28 Tisler Salvage street stocks, 41 IMCA northern sportmods and 14 sport fours. Press Release (04-17-12)

The 2012 season at Seymour Super Speedway is officially underway after Sunday Night April 1st. Over 135 cars competed on the 1/3 mile. Gary Kasperek would make it a three-way dance with five laps to go. Gross could charge on the outside of Hayden with two laps remaining and make his trip from Menominee a successful one taking the feature win. Kasperek would come home with second place money. Hayden would finish third followed by Dan Gracyalny and Phil Hiles. The race went green flag to checker flag. Schmidt would take the win with Anvelink finishing second on the back bumper at the checker flag. Russ Scheffler finished third. Troy Springborn and Pete Parker rounded out the top 5. 83 cars representing eight different classes filled the pit area at 141 Speedway Saturday, April 7 for the third and final “test and tune” of the 2012 “pre-season.” The shakedown session was the final one with the season opener on tap Saturday, April 14 at 6 p.m. Press Release (04-10-12)

Drivers who compete in the IMCA northern sportmod class at 141 Speedway have yet another reason to compete weekly at the high-banked, third mile clay oval in 2012. Gandrud Chevrolet of Green Bay will be sponsoring a race ready, GM 602 Crate motor to go under the hood of the Harris sportmod that will be given away to a lucky driver in that division. Tisler Salvage has agreed to sponsor the street stock division at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek in 2012. Started in Reedsville back in 1966, Tisler Salvage remains one of the state’s largest auto salvage companies. Owned by former racer Gary Tisler, Tisler Salvage has all makes and models of used and aftermarket parts. They also buy scrap iron. Tisler Salvage will contribute $1,500 towards the street stock point fund at 141 Speedway. Drivers must run 75 percent of all weekly shows to be eligible for the point fund money. The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series brings their 900 horsepower thunder to the picturesque 141 Speedway in Francis Creek on Saturday night April 21st. The date marks the area's 2012 Sprint Car season opener. The IRA is the upper-Midwest's premier Sprint Car series. The winged/410 cubic inch open wheel rockets are the fastest type of machines in dirt track racing, and the IRA teams have taken well to the tricky 141 oval. Press Release (04-10-12)

TJ “The Kid” Smith figures if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. That’s why the defending Brian Peterson Builders Grand National Sportsman champion has opted to keep running his 2010 Larry Richards Outlaw chassis again this season. “That car has four championships and two runnerup points finishes on it, so we’ve decided to stick with it this year,” said Smith, from Menasha. “We’ve got it rebuilt and we’re ready to race.” Press Release (04-10-12)

Jerovetz Motorsports Shock Service is the latest racing-related business to jump on board as a contingency sponsor for the Custom Windows Plus Badger Mod Tour presented by Floors By Design & Directional Drilling Services. Located in Suamico, Wisconsin, Jerovetz Motorsports Shock Service builds, services and dyno’s all brands of shocks, specializing in both QA 1 and AFCO brand shocks. Cousins Sean Jerovetz and Troy Jerovetz, racers themselves, own and operate the business, which is in its second year. They service and sell shocks for several dirt racing divisions. Sean Jerovetz didn’t mind last summer’s “heat” in more ways than one at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek. For 2012, the 36 year old driver will have a full plate once again. Owner of S & B Trailer Sales, a dealer for Harris Racing chassis and owner of Jerovetz Motorsports Shock Service, getting a good nights sleep is an afterthought. “We work seven days a week on stuff but it’s just the way it is,” said Jerovetz. “At S & B Saturdays are one of our biggest days for sales, because most people have off and they’re looking to buy something.” Press Release (03-25-12)

Rookie Bobby Kendall held on to win his first Fox River Racing Club feature, capping the end of a wild 7-lap shootout, on Bergstrom Ford – Lincoln of the Valley Night at Wisconsin International Raceway. Kendall started the race from the outside pole position, taking the lead on lap one. Brent Strelka won the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature, holding off Sawyer Effertz by .323 seconds. Strelka started the race from fourth position as Tim Springstroh and Gary Natrop led the opening laps respectively. Natrop held the lead until the restart on lap nine, when Strelka chose to restart on the outside of the front row. Strelka led the remaining 12 laps, with Effertz finishing second, followed by Brad Anthony, Cory Kemkes and Jesse Oudenhoven. Press Release (05-11-12)

The 65th Season for Slinger Speedway kick’s off Sunday afternoon April 29th with the Miller Lite 130 Spring Opener. The Miller Lite 130 will have a break at the half way point and this season it will be lap 65 in honor of the 65th season of racing at Slinger Speedway. Super Late Models will headline the event joined by Late Models, Midwest Sportsman, Thunderstock, Slinger Bee’s, and Figure 8’s. Gates will open at Noon and racing starts at 2:00 pm. Kevin Eggert tells ushis team will be running only a few shows at Kaukauna this year as time/schedule permits. They have completely reconstructed their 2011 Lefthander with a new Rightfoot stub and plan to hit some bigger races in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana with ASA and CRA. The team willl likely be at the Kaukauna opener, but beyond that we will be traveling and having way more fun trying out all the other tracks. (03-25-12)

It's now less than three months away from the first green flag of the 2012 racing season at Madison International Speedway. Track officials are working diligently to assure race teams and fans that this will be the greatest season ever at the historic speedway located two miles east of Oregon, Wisconsin. Of course fans can expect a great weekly racing program along with exciting special events such as the Joe Shear Classic featuring the ASA Midwest Tour on May 6th, the Fireworks Extravaganza on June 29th featuring ThunderCat, the ARCA Series in August, and the Fall Classic in September but a variety of new looks as well. Just thought I would drop a letter out for the racers and fans to know what is happening for the 2012 racing season at Golden Sands Speedway. First of all yes, there is a for sale sign out in front of the facility. This was done to offer the track for sale to anyone local who might be interested in owning it. The most interested party is a party from out of state and we just wanted to offer the facility locally. As of now, Darrel & Shela Bassuener still own the facility and plan to operate it along with Craig Bassuener and Amy Kolo on an every other week basis. Golden Sands Speedway (02-12-12)

The Slinger Speedway awards banquet was held Saturday January 28 at the Schauer Arts Center in Hartford, Wisconsin. Drivers, car owners, crews, fans and track staff were on hand to honor the champions and all the racers in each division. There was an added treat with the new venue at the Schauer Center it also allows fans to take in the SE Wisconsin Short Track Hall of Fame, housed in the same building. The American Speed Association® Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment and Lester Buildings has been touring some of the greatest short tracks in the Midwest since its inception. Three exciting new tracks have been added to the 2012 schedule. The first will be on Saturday, June 2nd as teams head northeast to Berlin Raceway in Marne, MI for the Port City 100. This will not be the first time Berlin has hosted this type of event. Berlin Raceway was a regular on both the ARTGO and ASA Challenge Series' circuits years ago. Berlin is a 7/16 mile paved oval with 13 degree banking in the turns and 9 degree banking on the straightaways. Press Release (04-17-12)

In only four short weeks, the American Speed Association® Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment and Lester Buildings will head to Madison International Speedway for the 4th Annual Joe Shear Classic. Every Sunday when David Stremme straps into his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series machine at tracks across the country, fresh on his mind are lessons taught to him at a very young age by Howie Lettow. Individuals that are interested in this position must have at least 2 years of announcing experience in the auto racing field or related sports venues. Applicants must be capable of producing a strong voice that is capable of entertaining thousands of race fans around the Midwest. Additional requirements include a basic knowledge in PR, Marketing, and Media along with exceptional writing skills are a plus.
