Tri County Heating in New Franken has signed on to become the primary sponsor for a 2012 Harris IMCA northern sportmod that will be given away later this year at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek. The car will be awarded to a sportmod driver at the end of the year who races in 75 percent or more of the track’s weekly shows in 2012. In addition, division drivers who earn 100 percent attendance racing their cars all year will receive a mulligan – an extra chip in the drawing bag when the machine is awarded to a driver at season’s end in August. The value of the car, without a motor and transmission, is $15,000. Press Release (01-30-12)

141 Speedway in Francis Creek will host it’s 2011 awards banquet Saturday, February 4 at Fox Hills Resort in Mishicot. Champions in all six divisions will be crowned. Rookie-of-the-year honors will also be doled out, along with most improved driver awards. Drivers who took part in 75 percent or more of the weekly shows will receive point fund money. Drivers need to be at the banquet to collect both point fund money and trophies. Press Release (01-30-12)

Three northeast Wisconsin-based businesses, all with ties to dirt track racing, have signed on to back the Badger Mod Tour during its inaugural season in 2012. The tour will be referred to as“The Custom Windows Plus Badger Mod Tour presented by Floors By Design & Directional Drilling Services.” The series will host modified races at clay ovals in the eastern half of Wisconsin this year. “With the support of these three businesses, we can secure the guaranteed point fund for the drivers and that’s a big step for our first year,” said series director Joe Verdegan. “Our point fund will pay 20 spots deep to tour members and guarantees the winner a minimum of $1500 cash, along with other contingencies we’re currently working on. We’re new and we’re taking “baby steps” so to speak in our first year. We want to be around for the long haul.” Press Release (01-30-12)

141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wisconsin will run their sportmods under the IMCA sanction for their weekly, Saturday night program in 2012. Track promoter Bruce Conard announced today at the Lakeshore Motorsports Show & Sale in Manitowoc that they had decided to accept the sanctioning body's request to rejoin the state's newest, high-banked, third-mile, clay oval in sanctioning weekly racing action for the sportmods. Press Release (01-23-12)

The schedule for the new Custom Windows Plus Badger Mod Tour presented by Floors By Design was released at a drivers meeting at 141 Speedway's Victory Lane Pub on Thursday. 8 shows at seven different clay ovals will take place in the series maiden voyage. The Tour kicks off on Memorial Day weekend Saturday, May 26 at Beaver Dam Raceway, a privately owned, high-banked third-mile clay oval. Press Release (01-23-12)

Lakeshore Motorsports Promotions, headed up by track manager Rick Goral of Denmark, has decided to call it quits as the promoters of Luxemburg Speedway's weekly, Friday night program at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds. There were many factors, according to Goral, that led to the decision to pull out. Chief among those decisions was an added expense of moving the pit area to the west end of the fairgrounds. A new concession stand would be built. "It would be quite an expensive proposition to bring that kitchen up to code," said Goral. LMP paid the highest track rental fee to host weekly racing. "It's among the highest in the state, if not the Midwest and in this economy, makes it awful tough to pull a profit," said Goral. "Overall the county has been pretty good to work with. There are just some areas we don't see eye to eye on is all." Press Release (01-13-12)

141 Speedway will be giving away a complete 2012 Harris Racing Sportmod at the end of the year to one lucky driver who competes regularly at the high-banked, third mile clay oval. The car, valued at nearly $15,000, will be awarded to any sportmod driver who competes in 75 percent or more of the track’s weekly shows in 2012. In addition, division drivers who earn 100 percent attendance racing their cars all year will receive a mulligan – an extra chip in the drawing bag when the machine is awarded to a driver at season’s end in August. Press Release (01-13-12)

If there's one key theme to 141 Speedway's last two seasonsof racing at the Francis Creek oval, it's undoubtedly been "change." 141 saw it's average, weekly car count increase as the summer months wore on, a trend much differentthan most weekly dirt tracks in Wisconsin. "Our Modified and Brian Peterson Builders Grand National classes were pretty steady, but we saw a pretty good jump in the Stock Car and Street Stock classes, especially in late July and early August," said Bruce Conard. "I'm not sure what it was. We take a lot of pride in the whole program, everything from track prep to the concession area up top to shooting the t shirts out to the fans at intermission. We pay attention to the details and we'd like to think it'spaid off for us." Press Release (01-2-11)

The third annual Lakeshore Motorsports Show & Sale is slated to take place Saturday, January 21 at the Manitowoc County Expo's Merchants Building in Manitowoc from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 30 different vendors will be on hand, everything from Wisconsin race tracks, chassis builders, race car parts manufacturers and individuals and businesses selling new and used racing parts, equipment and supplies. Press Release (12-28-11)

A series schedule will be unveiled, along with the rules package, payout and points fund as well as other pertinent information. Press Release (12-28-11)

Mark Schroeder tells us that Miller Lite/General Beer Northeast has notified the team that they are cutting sponsorship for the 2012 season. This was strictly a business decision by Miller Lite/General Beer Northeast as they cut expenses out of their budget, not to sponsor a car at WIR. On a positive note the team is currently awaiting a brand new chassis for the 2012 season. The team's new car will sit on a 2012 Right Foot Chassis. This will be the first complete chassis out of Right Foot Performance Products. (01-23-11)
