141 SPEEDWAY SETS 2010 DRIVERS MEETING FOR JANUARY 23

(Francis Creek, WI) Jan. 14 – 141 Speedway track management has announced a meeting for any driver who wishes to race at Wisconsin’s newest, third-mile, clay oval will be held Saturday, January 23 at 1 p.m. a the track’s sports bar, the Victory Lane Pub.

Track memberships will be sold.  Pit stalls will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.  Paved pit stalls will sell for $100, other gravel spots will sell for $50.  “We have 47 paved pit stalls available for sale and like we did when it was pavement, we’ll make sure they’re cleaned off weekly,” said track promoter Bruce Conard.  “We strongly urge any drivers who want to be part of our program in 2010 to attend.  It should be an exciting year.”

IMCA modifieds, stock cars, northern sportmods and sport fours will be the four “base”, weekly classes on Wednesday nights.  In addition a fifth, rotating weekly class will be thrown in the mix.  Among those classes will be grand national sportsman, IMCA hobby stocks and street stocks.   The grand national rules will mirror those from Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car at Manitowoc County Expo.

“We’ve also got a couple of Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association (WDLMA) dates pinned down and we’re still negotiating with Steve Sinclair and the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw sprint car series,” said Conard.  “We are also negotiating with a few other clubs to bring in as many as three other divisions in possibly for a Wednesday night show, so we’ll have quite a diverse lineup this year.”

After 50 historic seasons as a ¼ mile, paved oval, the track was tore up this fall and several hundred yards of clay were added. “We’ve had drivers popping in all Fall and Winter when we were laying down the surface and there is ton of interest among the dirt racing community,” said Conard.   In addition, race teams will welcome a new catwalk that was installed in the pit area outside turns three and four this Fall.  A new concrete retaining wall surrounding the new track was also installed.

141 Speedway will kick off it’s historic 51st season of racing on it’s brand new,  third-mile, clay oval Wednesday night, May 5 at 7 p.m. A pair of practice sessions will be held on Wednesday nights April 21 and April 28.  The practices will be open to cars in any division.
