141 SPEEDWAY CROWNS 2009 TRACK CHAMPIONS
(Francis Creek, WI) February 13 – More than 200 drivers, crew members and track officials were honored for their efforts as 141 Speedway in Francis Creek hosted it’s 2009 season awards banquet at Knox’s Silver Valley Banquet Hall in Manitowoc Saturday night.
Whitelaw’s Daryl Gerke teamed up with Green Bay’s Brett Piontek to capture the Tisler Salvage Mid American Sportsman crown. The husband/wife team of Dave and Jo Gauger of Two Rivers beat out Francis Creek’s Kraig Koehler and Green Bay’s Lee Kielpikowski to capture the Manitowoc Motor and Machining super stock crown. Former track promoter Matt Rowe of Whitelaw captured his first ever track title, using a ten year old race car to beat out Kewaunee’s Keith Kickbush to collect the Karl Chevrolet IMCA northern sportmod track championship.
Luxemburg’s George Paul beat out Mark Christensen and Mike Wilde to win the Linebacker Sports Bar and Grill IMCA hobby stock title while Two Rivers’ Bruce Sand battled Brandon Tegen and Ian Fogeltanz to win the Saucy’s Sports Bar and Grill sport four crown.
Capturing rookie-of-the-year honors were Green Bay’s Adam White in the Mid American stock car, Mishicot’s Erik Turner in super stocks, Rowe in IMCA northern sportmods, Patrick Oehlke of Manitowoc in the IMCA hobby stocks and Manitowoc’s Brad Laurent in the sport fours.
