New to the Derby this year will be special relay races in which the teams will use both cars and  canoes to paddle their way across the infield pond.  "We've also got a few surprises in store for the fans," said track promoter Bruce Conard.  "It will be pretty much unlike anything that's ever been done here before."

The pit gate opens at 4 p.m.  The main grandstand opens at 5 p.m.  Pit passes are $20.00 a piece and there is no entry fee.  Adult tickets are $10.00.  9 and under are free with a paid adult.  Fans are encouraged to get there early to grab their seats as the grandstand typically fills up fast for this event.
