Brad Rohloff Takes IMCA Modified Feature Win

August 5, 2005; Antigo, Wisconsin; Terry Anvelink dominated the WISSOTA Late Model Feature and took home the Feature Victory. Brand Rohloff cruised to the IMCA Modified Feature, and B.J. Giese took home top honors in the IMCA Stock Cars. Gary Kasperek won the WISSOTA Street Stock Feature and Jeremy Dake took home the checkers in the Truck Feature.
Terry Anvelink used his pole starting position to jump into the lead of the WISSOTA Late Model Feature. Ron Berna followed in s close second and A.J. Diemel would grab the third spot. Passing was at a minimum as Anvelink and Berna quickly distanced themselves from the field. When the checkers flew it was Anvelink taking the win, Berna second, and Diemel third.
The IMCA Modified Feature seen Pat Zdroit grab the early lead with Frank Heller in second and Mark Glembin third. The caution flag halted things right off the
bat, but on the restart Zdroit grabbed the lead back with Heller runner-up and Rohloff following. Rohloff found the inside line to be the fastest and went around
Heller for second and then Zdroit for the lead. Jeremie Hedrick also moved to the inside of Heller and Zdroit to take over second. When the laps winded down
it was Rohloff taking the Victory, Hedrick second, and Scott Williams moving into the third spot.
Leslie Slater grabbed the lead of the IMCA Stock Car Feature with Erik Lambrecht second and Dan Michonski in a close third. Michonski snuck to the inside of
Lambrecht to take over second and Larry Karcz moved to third. With Michonski and Karcz on the move, it was Slater losing his spot next. Michonski would move into the lead, Karcz second, and Bruce Belland moving into third. Belland moved into second and Slater to third when Karcz lost a motor on the front stretch. B.J. Giese grabbed the inside lone and took over third. The caution flag halted action when the top two of Michonski and Belland got together and spun, on the restart Giese grabbed the point, Barry VanStraten moved to second and Slater third. When the checkers flew it was Giese taking the win, VanStraten second and Darrin Otto moving into third.
Gary Kasperek dominated the entire WISSOTA Street Stock Feature. Kasperek jumped into the lead from his front row spot with Lee Christjohn second, John Fetzer third, and Junior Howard in fourth. The field froze the first few laps with the exception of Mark Schuenemann taking over fourth for a short time but Howard would regain it. The race ended when the caution flag came out on the white flag lap. Kasperek took home the win, Christjohn second, and Fetzer rounding out the top three.
Eric Ney grabbed the early lead of the Truck Feature with Jeremy Dake following in a close second and JP Remington third. Ney and Dake quickly traded
positions, but the caution flag would halt racing. On the restart it was Dake at the point, Remington second, and Mike Bostwick third. Remington took over the lead for a shot period of time. The caution flag again halted racing, but on the restart Remington regained the lead, Dake second and Bostwick third. When the
checkers flew it was Dake crossing the finish line first by a nose, Remington second, and Bostwick third.
The weekly race program includes WISSOTA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, WISSOTA Street Stocks, and ASCI Trucks. Racing continues weekly until September 2, 2004 with a break on June 10th for the Off-Road Races. Racing begins at 7:15. Food and beverages are sold on the grounds. Langlade County Speedway is located on the north side of Antigo, just off of Highway 45 at the Langlade County Fairgrounds.
