Leslie Slater Jr. Claims IMCA Stock Car Feature!

July 12, 2005; Antigo, Wisconsin; Leslie Slater Jr. visited Victory Lane after winning his first Feature in Antigo in the IMCA Stock Cars. Terry Casey ran away with the WISSOTA Late Model Feature, and Lee Christjohn claimed the WISSOTA Street Stock Feature. Wade Schutt was the winner in the IMCA Modified Feature and Jeremy Dake won the Truck main event for the second week in a row.
Terry Casey jumped to the lead of the WISSOTA Late Model Feature and dominated the entire event. Todd Flannery quickly moved to the bottom of the track and held onto the second position. A.J. Diemel grabbed third but dropped to fourth when Terry Anvelink blew past on the outside. Racing was halted when the
caution flag flew, but when racing resumed it was Casey back at the point, Diemel second and Flannery third. Anvelink would get around Flannery for third when
Flannery slipped high. When the checkers flew it wasnCasey taking the win, Diemel second, and Anvelink third.
When the green flag dropped in the IMCA Modified Feature it was Frank Heller at the point, Jim Hanson second and Wade Schutt third. The caution flag quickly slowed action, but on the restart it was Schutt taking the lead, Heller second, and Hanson third. Tom Schaal made the outside line stick and went around Hanson for third and then moved to the inside of Heller. Brad Rohloff grabbed the inside line around Heller to move into the top three. When the laps winded down it was Schutt to taking the win, Schaal runner-up and Rohloff third.
Leslie Slater used his front row starting position to jump into the lead of the IMCA Stock Car Feature and never looked back on a caution free Feature race. Sean Thayer slipped into the second spot with Asa Doxtator third. Bruce Belland was able to use the outside line to go around Doxtator as well as Thayer to take over the runner-up spot. Dan Michonski was able to sneak past Thayer on the last lap to take over third. The win went to Slater, second to Belland, and Michonski rounding out the top three.
Keith Raab grabbed the lead of the WISSOTA Street Stock Feature with Mark Schuenemann in a close second and Dan Wanta third. Schuenemann used the inside line to get around Raab to take over the lead, with Wanta following, moving Raab to third. Raab would loose another position, this time to Lee Christjohn. Christjohn then set his sights on second and went to the inside of Wanta to take over the position, and then took over the lead from Schuenemann. Christjohn would take the checkers, Schuenemann would hold onto the second spot and Wanta third.
Harold Harvey grabbed the lead of the Truck Feature with Jeremy Dake second and JP Remington third. Dake grabbed the outside line and went around Harvey for second, and Remington followed moving into the second spot. Jon Ripley grabbed the third spot from Harvey using the outside line. With only a handful of laps remaining, Jason Bandt grabbed the third position. When the checkers flew it was Dake taking the win, Remington second, and Bandt rounding out the top three.
The weekly race program includes WISSOTA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, WISSOTA Street Stocks, and ASCI Trucks. Racing continues weekly until September 2, 2004 with a break on June 10th for the Off-Road Races. Racing begins at 7:15. Food and beverages are sold on the grounds.
