Champions Crowned in Antigo!

August 2, 2005; Antigo, Wisconsin; The final 2005 regular race program wrapped up in Antigo this past Friday night. The Track Champions were as follows:
WISSOTA Late Model A.J. Diemel, IMCA Modified Scott Williams, making it two in a row in the IMCA Stock Cars was Larry Karcz Jr., WISSOTA Street Stocks to Lee Christjohn, and Trucks to JP Remington. A.J. Diemel also grabbed the WISSOTA Late Model Feature win, with Jeremie Hedrick top dog in the IMCA Modified Feature. Kyle Fredrick bead out Rod Snellenberger to win the IMCA Stock Car Feature, and Brent Schultz won his first ever WISSOTA Street Stock Feature. Jeremy Dake ended the season with a Feature win in the Trucks.
The WISSOTA Late Model Feature started with a caution flag, when racing resumed it was Troy Springborn taking the point, Doug Blashe second, and Ron Berna third. Luke Roffers wasted no time moving to the inside of Springborn to take over the third spot. Doug Blashe used the inside line to get around Springborn for the lead as A.J. Diemel moved to the inside of Roffers for third, and then Springborn for second. Another caution slowed action but on the restart it was Blashe at the point, Diemel in a close second and Nick Anvelink moving into third. Diemel grabbed the outside line and easily moved around Blashe for the lead, as Nick Anvelink followed, putting Blashe to third. When the laps ran out it was Diemel taking the win, and the Track Championship, Anvelink second, and Gordie Seegert sneaking into third.
The IMCA Modified Feature seen a few caution flags before they were able to run a few consecutive laps. Jeremie Hedrick grabbed the lead right off the bat and
was never challenged for the position, and went on the win the Feature. Mike Bailey grabbed the second position but was passed on one of the restarts by Mike
Wedelstadt, and then Tom Haferkorn. The field would freeze as the top three pulled away from the rest of the competitors. When the checkered flew, it was
Hedrick grabbing the win, Wedelstadt second, and Haferkorn third. Scott Williams was crowned the 2005 Track Champion.
Rod Snellenberger grabbed the point of the IMCA Stock Car Feature with Kyle Fredrick second, and Darrin Otto third. Dan Michonski moved to the outside line to get around Otto, Michonski then slipped high, letting Otto back into second. Otto then grabbed the inside line around Fredrick to take over second, but that would not last long as Fredrick gained more momentum and grabbed second back. Fredrick then looked to the outside of Snellenberger for the lead, Snellenberger held his line, and made Fredrick earn the pass. A few laps latter, Fredrick was able to pull ahead into the lead. When all the laps were completed, it was Fredrick taking the win, Snellenberger second, and Otto rounding out the top three.
Brent Schultz grabbed the lead of the WISSOTA Street Stock Feature with Dan Wanta nipping at his heals, and Jermey Wolfe in a close third. Mark Schuenemann found the inside line to be faster and moved into third, moving Wolfe to fourth. Schuenemann then looked to the inside of Wanta for the runner-up position. Lee Christjohn was able to sneak in to the third spot with a pass on Wanta before the Checkered flag flew. When the 15 laps were completed it was Brent Schultz taking his first ever Feature win, Schuenemann second and Christjohn third.
Robert Hoffman grabbed the point of the Truck Feature win Forest Crandall second, and Harold Harvey third. Jeff Becker grabbed the inside line and went from
fourth to second, bringing Jason Bandt with him into third. JP Remington was then the man on the move, passing numerous cars in the next lap and winding up in
the second spot with Jeremy Dake following close moving into third. Dake jumped to the outside and was able to get around Remington and then Becker to take over the lead. When the laps were completed it was Dake taking the win, Remington second, and Jason Bandt third.
