ASA Midwest Tour Adds Schultz to Advisory Board
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (December 1, 2006) – The ASA Midwest Tour is pleased to announce Carl Schultz from Five Star Race Car Bodies as the latest addition to the Advisory Board.
The Advisory Board has been developed to bring together some of the most renowned racing industry experts to provide insight to Tour management. Vice President Steve Einhaus explained, “We feel this will help us grow and keep us on track by fielding suggestions from all involved. It’s our intent to have the best series available to support short track racers and Tour President Tim Olson and I feel that this group will help us realize that goal.”
Schultz is an accomplished businessman as the co-founder of Five Star Race Car Bodies and an asset to the group. "I am honored and excited to serve on the ASA Midwest Tour Advisory Board. It is an opportunity that I take very seriously and I am anxious to get started. It is my hope that the nearly 30 years of experience I have in the racing industry can contribute to the success of this series. There are great tracks and great race teams in the Midwest. I think that the fans are in for some great racing," Schultz shared.
Five Star is located in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, and is committed to providing the racing community with quality after market body panels specifically designed for racing. What started as a side job for co-owners Fran Prestay and Schultz in the late 1970s is now a 120,000 square foot facility housing over 80 employees in engineering, design, composite molding, metal and window forming, and the national sales office.
All ASA Midwest Tour cars are outfitted with Five Star offset fiberglass ABC bodies. Available in Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge or Pontiac styles, these bodies have established an industry standard for design, construction, and technical inspection of the bodies for offset template late models throughout North America.
