American Speed Association Midwest Tour announces Penske Racing Shocks Sponsorship

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (February 21, 2007) – The American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment is proud to announce sponsorship from Penske Racing Shocks.

“The Upper Midwest has been a leader in Super Late Model grass roots racing for as long as I can remember. The development of the new ASA Midwest Tour will allow regional race fans and tracks to see a high profile series with many of the greatest stock car drivers in the country competing right in front of their eyes,” stated Penske Racing Shocks sales Director Allen Croll. “We have a great customer base in the Upper Midwest and we are excited to be able to support the Tour in it’s inaugural year and for many years to come,” he added.

Located in Brooklyn, Michigan, Penske Racing Shocks Mid-West has been serving the racing industry for over a decade. Using the technology first developed for Indy Car, Penske Racing Shocks have been developed for all forms of racing. Every shock is built for quality, simplicity, repeatability, and high performance.

Penske Racing Shocks were successfully developed and tested in 1985. Since then, cars equipped with their dampers continue to win many races and championships, nationally and internationally. Penske Racing shocks have been successful in Formula One, NASCAR, CART, IRL, Formula Atlantics, SCCA Trans Am, GARRS, ALMS, NHRA, IHRA, AMA, and now the American Speed Association Midwest Tour. Additionally, the International Race of Champions (IROC), The Barber Dodge Pro Series, and the SCCA Spec Racer Ford Series have chosen Penske Racing Shocks as the shock of choice to run in their competition series, proving their dependability and repeatability.

Penske Racing Shocks are completely owner rebuildable and serviceable. They can easily be revalved in a matter of minutes. Should any part of a Penske Racing Shock become damaged, that part can be replaced by the owner rather than requiring complete replacement of the shock.

Compression and rebound damping are achieved by fluid being forced through a series of high quality valve washers. Users can change the damping forces by simply changing the valve shims. The double adjustable shocks permit users to fine tune valving requirements externally. The knob on the remote reservoir control the compression adjustments. The rebound adjustment is located at the eyelet. These adjustments are easily accessible without removing the shock from the car.

Many teams require a custom shock design that complies with the ever-changing technology of today's racecars. Penske is in the position to offer many custom shock designs and ideas, offering the ultimate in lightweight and packaging unique to customer’s needs.

“It’s great to see Allen and everyone at Penske Racing Shocks so enthusiastic about partnering up with us for our Inaugural year. They are a great company that is very supportive of grass roots racing and they will be an integral part of our series for many years,” stated Tour VP Steve Einhaus.

The ASAMT will celebrate the inaugural opening day April 28, 2007 at the Elko Speedway (MN).
