ASA Educational Series Kicking Into Full Gear

From: Steve Einhaus and Pete Raskovic

We would like to take a few minutes to send all of you a note updating you on the ASA Educational Series program. Many of you are in the process or have already been connected with an area high school to take part in the scholarship program.

We have been working very hard to get this program up and running the last few months and we are very close to having everything finalized on paper. Liability insurance costs for the ASAES have amounted to a monumental figure, but we are moving forward as originally planned.

We have also completed the Implementation Manual for the Automotive Technology instructors and schools as well as the race team checklist to be used to help you train the students throughout the summer on skills ranging from packing wheel bearings to body repair.

As we continue to prepare all of the teams participating in the Educational Series for the new season we would like all of you to send us a brief update on your status with the school you are working with. This is important for us to make proper contact with each school and the instructors involved so that students can be formally registered.

If some of you are in discussion with a high school we are encouraging you to have your contact from the school call the Tour office. While this is the inaugural season for the Educational Series, it's obvious how important this can be in helping students earn an opportunity to have a successful Automotive Technology career through scholarships in the ASAES.

We are also working very hard to secure sponsorship to be able to cover our Educational Series purse that will be distributed to participating teams. The special purse money for all participating teams is in special thanks for partaking in the program.

Thanks again to all of you for your support and we look forward to hearing from all of you to hear about your current status with schools. You have the chance to make something happen and give students a unique career training opportunity.

Sincerely,

Steve Einhaus
President ASAES
