DAYTONA BEACH, FL (April 25, 2007) – The American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment will be taking to the high banks of the Elko Speedway Saturday for the Tour’s inaugural season opener.
Several drivers are looking forward to racing at Elko. “It will be our first race in this new asphalt car and Elko will be similar to our home track in South Dakota because it is close to us and more of my family and friends can make it there,” double-duty dirt racer Lane Brenden said.

"The American Speed Association has always had rich history in the Minnesota racing scene and we’re bringing true super late model racing to Elko. Race fans will be able to see the nation’s top short track stars racing in the inaugural event for the Midwest Tour. It's going to be one of the toughest races this season to make with the count and caliber of entries expected,” ASAMT VP Steve Einhaus stated.
Minnesota’s Elko Speedway is a high-banked, 3/8-mile; paved oval track located ten minutes south of Burnsville on I-35, Exit 76. The track allows for two- and three-wide racing. The pit area is completely paved and offers paved areas for the cars. The track is well lighted with lights around the entire track.
