Tesar Joins ASA Midwest Tour Engine Giveaway Program
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (May 2, 2007) –In an effort to support “built motor” engine builders and the engine parts manufacturer industry, the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment is pleased to announce that Tesar Engineering has come on board to give away a brand new ACE engine valued at $26,000 in addition to the other two engines valued at over $50,000 at the 2007 championship banquet, according to ASAMT VP Steve Einhaus.
“We feel that in order to help all engine builders, we should get on board with this program with our suppliers and the two other builders. There a lot of builders all over the country who have worked hard to get where they’re at; I have seven people in my shop that rely on this and they need to stay busy. We’re trying to keep costs down but our costs on parts keep going up, and how do you deal with that? What a lot of people don’t know is that a built motor is a better value over the years. There’s the initial cost but refreshing is relatively inexpensive. You’re going to go through a lot of crate motors. And plus you’re supporting your local builders rather than the big car companies. Their stock stuff really isn’t that good – a built motor is designed to last several seasons,” Mike Tesar explained.
The ACE engine built by Tesar Engineering will be their top of the line model, complete with bell housing and clutch assembly.
The engines will be given away in a drawing from teams that have competed in 75 percent of the ASA Midwest Tour events with a built unsealed engine, finish in the top 20 in point standings and are officially registered with the Tour.
Why the ASA Midwest Tour? “This thing has the potential to be as big or bigger than the ASA National Tour as the premier racing series. I believe right now the administrative team is doing a great job. I went to the first race and it was awesome, I can’t say enough. There were 51 cars and 28 made the race. Those drivers are the best of the best and it was a great show all around. Giving away one of our engines will help a built motor team continue to be competitive and support our industry,” Tesar concluded.
“Mike Tesar called me on my way to Elko and told me he wanted to join the engine giveaway program after a discussion we had at Nashville. I had to pull the car over and take a breath after his call because I was so excited for our racers. I can’t believe how fortunate we are as a series and how awesome this is for our competitors. I don’t know if there is another series in the country that is offering the same type of incentives (over $75,000 in three motors) that we are offering but this is what will make the ASA Midwest Tour the number one series in the country. The racers, the fans, and our sponsors are what makes us successful and it is fulfilling to us to be able to give back to all them for supporting us all year long,” stated series VP Steve Einhaus.
The ASA Midwest Tour will hold its second event of the season Saturday May 19 at Wisconsin’s Jefferson Speedway. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday May 20th with a start time of 2pm.
