Wednesday, November 28, 2007 (Daytona Beach, FL) – ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment officials are putting the final plans together to celebrate its inaugural season. The 2007 ASAMT Championship Banquet will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI.
The registration information for the banquet has been sent out to the race teams and the registration form is also available online at www.asamidwesttour.com.
The Kalahari Resort is well known for having “America’s Largest Indoor Waterpark.” The race teams are invited to arrive early on Saturday for a Family Fun Day in the water park from noon to 4 p.m. Hotel check-in is at 4 p.m. But, you pre-check in and enjoy the waterpark.
If you have booked a room, each registered guest will have access to the waterpark on Saturday and Sunday.
The Kalahari Resort has a special price of $159 per room for the ASA Midwest Tour. This cost does also include a waterpark pass for everyone registered in your room. To book your room, please call the Kalahari toll-free at (877) Kalahari (525-2427) and mention the ASA Midwest Tour when you call to reserve. Also, ask about any available condos or suites that can accommodate your entire race team. The Village Suites have full kitchens, fire places, hot tubs, etc. and can be reserved by teams. The suites can sleep up to 12 people and are available at the ASAMT rate of $477.00. Again, every person registered in the room gets a free waterpark pass.
The banquet and awards ceremony will take place in the Kalahari’s convention center. The attire will be semi-formal with gentlemen required to wear a tie. No jeans will be allowed.
The tables will be set in the form of eight (8) people per table and the ASAMT can accommodate race teams that would like to sit together. In order to do this, the ASAMT asks that the teams mail their forms together with the list of names, etc.
Hor D’oeuvres will be served from 6-7 p.m. with a complimentary bar from 6-8 p.m. A cash bar will follow.
A plated dinner will then be served starting at 7 p.m. featuring: Chef Carved Traditional London Broil with Bordelaise Sauce, Chicken Forestierre (breast of chicken with fresh sautéed mushrooms, laced with demi-glace), chef’s choice of starch or vegetable, assorted dessert table, coffee, milk, and soda.
The Awards Ceremony will follow dinner.
The banquet ticket is $50 a person. This includes the hor d’oeuvres, open bar (6-8 p.m.), dinner and dessert.
After the awards ceremony, everyone is invited to the Kahunaville Night Club at the Kalahari for an after banquet party. The Kahunaville features bartenders that add acrobatic flair by tossing and catching glasses and bottles while mixing your favorite drink.
On Sunday, January 27th, the waterpark will be open to the families while the 2008 participants are invited to an informational meeting starting at 11 a.m. at the Kalahari. If you are unable to make the banquet on Saturday night, you are more than welcome to attend this meeting on Sunday.
