ASAMT CONTINUES TO WORK WITH HOST TRACKS RULES

Daytona Beach, FL (Wednesday, February 6, 2008) – One of the reasons for the ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment’s success in 2007 was how their rules were designed to work with the host track’s weekly rules in order to allow their weekly competitor to compete when the ASAMT visited their track. This process will again continue in 2008.
“We are going to be visiting 13 to 14 different tracks in 2008 and we realize that we will be looking at 13 to 14 different rule packages,” Tim Olson, ASAMT President stated. “When Steve (Einhaus, ASAMT VP) and I started this series, we wanted to make sure that our rules were designed to be open for the weekly competitor to come and compete, just like the traditional ARTGO Series did in the 1970’s to 1990’s.”
ASAMT Tech Officials are already scheduling meetings with the host track officials to find a common ground in both the ASAMT rules and the host track rules so that the weekly competitors can be competitive without making major changes to their race cars.
“Mike Lemke (ASAMT Tech Official) has no down time when it comes to this,”
Olson stated. “We encourage the weekly competitors to come and race with us and give our series a try. We also realize that this is a special treat to their fans, their sponsors, and to the host track when the weekly hero takes on our Touring Stars.”
Olson has always stated that he has an open door policy and invites any weekly competitor to contact him at tim@asamidwesttour.com or call him at (612) 327-5831 with any questions.
“We are going to do everything possible to help the weekly competitor be a part of our show,” Olson exclaimed. “Last year, we had many positive results with this program and we are going to do the best we can to make sure the weekly competitor has an equal shot to compete with the best Super Late Model drivers in the Midwest on their home turf.”
