FEILER FINDS BENEFITS WITH BEING INVOLVED IN THE ASAMT

BURLINGTON, WI (Friday, February 29, 2008) – Looking back, Dave Feiler would say he was satisfied with his first season in the ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment. He finished third in points with five top-five and nine top-ten finishes. This season he is looking forward to getting his first win and moving up in the final point standings.

Last year, Feiler, a Sun Prairie, WI resident, became well known for moving his way from the back of the pack in a feature event to earning those top-five and top-ten finishes. He took home a new Lefthander Chassis for winning the Hard Charger Award for his Maynard Motorsports race team.

“Overall, we did a good job being consistent throughout the season,” Feiler recalled. “We completed all the laps until we went to Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest was our worst performance of the year and we struggled from the time we unloaded the car to lap 33 when we pulled off the track. Our preparation was great all season long and our preparation for Oktoberfest was strong but things just didn’t work out. I have always said that doing your homework at the shop will pay dividends later.”

Feiler does know what he is talking about. He is a three-time track champion at Madison International Speedway (1998, 2002, and 2003) and one championship at Dells Raceway Park (2002). In fact, he became the first driver to win championships at MIS and Dells in the same year since Dick Trickle did it in 1971.

He also has some touring experience as well as he ran the 1999 NASCAR Re/Max Challenge Series in 1999 where he finished ninth in points and second in the Rookie standings behind Jimmy Mars, but ahead of Jamie McMurray and Nathan Haseleu.

Feiler is looking forward to the 2008 season with the ASAMT. He finds this series to be beneficial for sponsors who are interested in sponsoring a race team in a regional touring series.

“The biggest benefit to sponsors supporting a team in the ASAMT is what the series does to help the teams get the exposure,” Feiler stated. “A sponsor will get their advertising with such things like the car, driver, trailer, race cards, parades, open houses, and grand openings. But the series promotes us through their website, radio, television and print advertising, on-site autograph sessions and appearances at their sponsor locations like Kwik Trip Stores, Echo and Scag dealers and much more. They promote us to help promote the series.”

And not only do the teams benefit from what the ASAMT does, but he also feels that the fans get their money’s worth when they come to an event.

“The ASAMT will give a race fan the best bang for their dollar,” Feiler exclaimed. “From drivers to autograph sessions to products given away to the fans, these are great assets to the fans, sponsors and tracks. Not only is the racing exciting, the fans can walk away being satisfied for the entertainment they received for their dollar spent.”

“Dave and his car owner Matt Maynard are two of the biggest supporters of our series,” ASAMT VP Steve Einhaus stated. “They have gone out of their way to prepare a car for 2007 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Champion Ron Hornaday Jr. to race with us and are always giving us ideas of what we can do to make our series better for everyone.”

Feiler is still hoping to take home his first ASAMT checkered flag. His first opportunity will come on Saturday, April 19th at Elko Speedway in Elko, MN.
