TOP ASA MIDWEST TOUR TEAMS WIN ON BASSETT RACING WHEELS

Burlington, WI - Since the inception of the ASA Midwest Tour, more races have been won on Bassett Racing Wheels than all other wheel brands combined. 2008 was no exception, as the top four drivers in series points raced on Bassett Racing Wheels.

The 2009 season marks the first year for Bassett Racing Wheel as an ASA Midwest Tour sponsor. "The ASA Midwest Tour is a outstanding showcase for our products and we wish to thank ASA Midwest Tour racers for making Bassett the most popular wheel in the series," said Brian Gill, Director of Marketing for Bassett Racing Wheel.

Bassett Racing Wheel will again award a product certificate to the second place finisher at each Tour feature race. Bassett will also award a free set of powder coat wheels to the 2009 series champion and a discount certificate to 2nd place.

According to Gill, the ASA Midwest Tour offers extremely close competition and wheel choice can directly impact a team's performance. "Bassett's unique one-piece ring style wide-five center and CNC spun-form rim shell with the armor edge offer an unmatched combination of low weight, low runout and high strength," said Gill. "In fact, independent testing proves the Bassett 15 x 10 wide-five wheel lasts three-times longer on a rotary fatigue test than any other wide-five wheel."

For racers preferring a 5-on-5" bolt circle wheel, Bassett is the only racing wheel company offering a low Moment of Inertia (MoI) design. Back in 1994, Bassett Racing Wheel became the first racing wheel company to apply MoI research to create a performance advantage. Using an Inertia test rig developed in conjunction with Quartermaster, Bassett engineers discovered that by moving more weight towards the axis point of the wheel (the hub bore circle), the wheel demonstrated a lower MoI. A lower MoI wheel improves handling and accelerates faster than an equal weight wheel with a higher MoI.

From its humble beginnings in a 1,000 square foot shop in Bassett, Wisconsin in 1965, Bassett Racing Wheel has grown by leaps and bounds. In 2001, Bassett Racing Wheel moved into a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Burlington, Wisconsin. The 50,000 square foot space allowed for a second CNC metal spinning lathe, an in-house powder coat paint line, chrome finishing and additional inventory.

Bassett's 20 full-time employees now manufacture and ship over 100,000 wheels per year. As a result of unprecedented growth the last three years, the company added a third CNC spinning lathe and third wheel welding line, nearly doubling daily production capacity.

Bassett remains committed to helping racers win by maintaining high quality standards, building faster wheels and keeping prices low. Bassett Racing Wheels can be found on all forms of oval track stock cars - from NASCAR Sprint Cup teams and IMCA modifieds to late model stocks and Legends cars.
