AMERICAN SPEED ASSOCIATION MIDWEST TOUR BANQUET THIS SATURDAY NIGHT

Kalahari Resort will have something for everyone.

By: Kevin Ramsell
BURLINGTON, WI (Wednesday, January 21, 2009) - It may be cold outside this weekend, but many American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment teams and their families will be enjoying the 85 degree warmth of the Kalahari Resort Indoor Water Park on Saturday, January 24th. Later that evening, Dan Fredrickson and others will receive their accolades for their efforts from this past season.

For the second year in a row, the ASAMT Championship Banquet will take place at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Like last year, many of the teams and their families will be arriving early to spend an afternoon in "America's Largest Indoor Waterpark." Will many see Tim Olson, ASAMT President, try to surf on the FlowRider®? Will Steve Einhaus, ASAMT Vice-president, take his two-year-old daughter on a ride around the lazy river? Find out during the ASAMT Family Fun Time from noon to 4pm. Hotel check-in is at 4 p.m. But, you can pre-check in and enjoy the waterpark.

For those not interested in the waterpark, the Kalahari recently opened its brand new 100,000 sq. ft Indoor Theme Park. This new theme park features bowling lanes, a six-story ferris wheel, Madagascar Mini Golf, Golf Simulators, Merry-Go-Round, Laser Tag, Ropes Course, and do we dare say...Go Karts. (Please note: the Indoor Theme Park is not included in your hotel package, an all day pass is $19.95 for hotel guests.)

The Cocktail Hour will get underway at 6pm in the Convention Center. The bar will be open along with hors d'oeuvres and a season highlight video presentation. The dinner will start at 7:00pm with the Award presentation to follow. The event will be semi-formal - tie required (no jeans please).

A plated dinner will then be served starting at 7pm featuring: Chef Carved Traditional London Broil with Bordelaise Sauce, Chicken Forestierre (breast of chicken with fresh sautéed mushrooms, laced with demi-glace), chef's choice of starch or vegetable, assorted dessert table, coffee, milk, and soda.

Following the banquet, everyone over the age of 21 is invited the Kahunaville Bar to cap off the evening. The Kahunaville Bar features a casual and fun atmosphere with a distinct tropical décor and juggling bartenders.

"We are looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend," Tim Olson, ASAMT President stated. "Last year, we had a lot of fun and it got everyone pumped up for the next season. I wouldn't mind a repeat of that."
