German native Matthias Czabok switches to ASL series with Urbine Motorsports.
ASHLAND, OH – German native and now Ashland Ohio resident Matthias Czabok who run the # 07 Urbine Motorsports Ford Taurus in the ASA national tour in 2004 will switch to the new ASL series in 2005.
Czabok will run again for Greg Urbine’s, Urbine Motorsport team the # 07 Ford Taurus and the team plans to participate in all 2005 ASL events.
“Greg just founded this new team in 2004 and made all the investments, so we are just glad that with the new ASL series we have a place to run in 2005, after all what went wrong with the ASA national tour” said Czabok.
“We had a challenging first year” noted Greg Urbine, owner of the # 07 Ford Taurus, “with all what was going on within the series and Matthias never having driven a stockcar or on ovals before, it was a wild ride for us, but we got better every time we went out there and actually finished out the season with a strong run in Atlanta, were we were running on the lead lap all night long and finally finished in 18th place just eight seconds behind the race winner.
The new team and driver combination finished 31st in owners points and 38th in driver points in their first full year in 2004.
“It has been a long winter with a lot of open questions”, so Czabok. “I just cannot wait to get back in the car for the first race at Odessa on April 30”, Czabok added.
“I think it will be an advantage to have the same group of people involved in our 2005 ASL program, I am a strong believer in consistency and with having the same team and driver in 2005 we all know what to expect”. Urbine added.
