Howie Lettow to chair competition committee for American Stockcar League
BAILEYS HARBOR, WI -- Veteran race car crew chief Howie Lettow has been named chairman of the compeition committee for the newly organized American Stockcar League which will have an organizational and informational meeting Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Best Western Hotal in Janesville, WI at 11 a.m.
The series is being formed by former ASA National Touring car owners and will be run under the sanction of the Mid-American Stock Car Series, Inc of Baileys Harbor, WI. "Howie Lettow has been around these cars for many years and is very respected in the racing industry. I am delighted he has accepted this position. Lettow and his committeee will recommend individuals to be hired as technical inspectors for the new series. A schedule of approximately ten races is anticipated on paved tracks.
In addition, Mike Lemke has been named overall competiton and safety director for all five of the Mid-American Stock Car Series divisions included the new series, the Mid-Am Super Trucks, Stock Car Classics, Mid-American Stock Cars and Midwest AllStar Late Models. Lemke will continue to serve as competition director for the Midwest AllStar Late Model division.
