Schedule finalized for I-70 ASLbseason opener Saturday, April 30
ODESSA, MO -- A few small changes have been made to the final schedule of events for the opening race of the newly organized American StockCar League at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, MO to give competitors the maximum amount of practice time.
The series recently changed from B.F. Goodrich to Goodyear radial tires and expanded the amount of practice time. This is also being done to allow new teams moving into this type of car more test time. A Friday, April 29 practice session and media day will run from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the high banked half-mile paved oval. The pit area will open at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 30 which is two hours earlier than posted on the official entry forms sent out to the ASL teams. Practice will run through 2:30 p.m. A drivers meeting at 2:45 p.m. will be followed by official technical inspections. Only safety related items will be inspected prior to practice. The new schedule will assure cars not arriving until Saturday that they will receive plenty of practice time.
Qualifying remains scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Racing begins at 7 p.m. topped by a 150-lap ASL feature. I-70 cars will also be running a feature race during the evening. For more information about tickets or motels contact the speedway at 816-230-0080.
