Veteran racers Peter Cozzolino, Paul Paine among latest ASL entries for I-70 opener

ODESSA, MO -- Veteran racers Peter Cozzolino of Indianapolis, IN and Paul Paine of Mound, MN have both filed entries for the American StockCar League opener Saturday night, April 30 at the I-70 Speedway in Odessa, MO.

Practice fo the ASL division is planned on the high banked paved half-mile oval from 1 to 2:30 p.m. with Super Truck practice from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.   Qualifying for both divisions will begin at 5:30 p.m. with racing at 7:00 p.m.  A 150-lap ASL feature and 35-lap Super Truck feature will highlight the evening's events.   Cozzolino has entered the McDonalds Monte Carlo while Paine will drive the Justice Brothers Car Care Monte Carlo.  Both have considerable racing experience in the former ASA National Tour. "I qualified for the front row two years in-a-row at I-70," Cozzolino said.  "I've always run real strong there.   I tested Goodyear Tires there last week and that worked out extremely well.   I look forward to the new ASL series getting started and renewing friendships with some of the teams," he added.
   
Paine just completed a deal with his car owner Tuesday to run the entire schedule in the newly organized series.  "This all came together at the last minute for us.  My car owner just told me we are going.  It's pretty exciting after a long winter," Paine explained.
   
Other entries arriving in the past few days include Trey Allen of McGreger, TX, Pontiac Grand Prix; Terry Breese, Colorado Springs, CO, Monte Carlo; Trevor Stewart, St. Cloud, MN, Monte Carlo; Greg Stewart, Four Oaks, NC, Monte Carlo; Matt Hawkins, Canton, GA, Monte Carlo; Troy Wangerin, Jordan, MN, Monte Carlo; and Andrew Morrissey, DeForest, WI, Taurus.
