Lowell Bennett latest drivers to enter Tuesday Night Shootout at WIR Aug. 2
   

KAUKAUNA, WI -- Lowell Bennett is among the latest group of drivers to enter the Tuesday Night Shootout August 2 at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna.

The popular Neenah, WI driver who competes part-time on the NASCAR Busch Series will race in the 44-Lap B & B Race Engines Late Model Shootout for the Wally Jors Memorial Cup.   The 44-Lap race will be run along with the American StockCar League 150 and Royal Rumble 30 race where the Mid-American Stock Cars tangle with the Mid-Am Super Trucks.    Several other preliminary races may also be held on the D-shaped half-mile track.  
   
Racing will begin at 7:15 p.m.   Time trials for the ASL cars begins at 4 p.m.   The drivers in the B & B Race Engines 44 and Royal Rumble 30 will draw for starting positions with some cars seeded by points.   An autograph session is planned from 5 to 6 p.m.
   
Bennett is the 1997 and 1998 Midwest AllStar Racing Series (MARS) point champion.  He has won the Slinger Nationals in 1997, 2000 and 2004.  His Red, White & Blue State Championship titles came in 1998 and 2004. He has been the Slinger Speedway late model track champion four times and the Fox River Racing Club Thursday night late model titlist twice.   Bennett also won the World Series of Stock Car Racing in Florida in 1997. The top ten drivers in the 2005 MARS point standings will race against challengers from around the Midwest for the Wally Jors Cup, in memory of a former Thursday night late model competitor at WIR and regional dirt racing champion from Fond du Lac, WI.
