Tim Lemirande of Verona drove to victory in the 20-lap Johnsonville Brats Modifieds A-Main on Charter Communications & Absolute Financial Night at Charter Raceway Park on Saturday night. Larry Zirbel of Iron Ridge grabbed the lead at the start of the event and led the first five circuits before Mike Sandholm of Oconomowoc took over the top spot. Meanwhile, Lemirande was picking his way up through the pack and soon moved in on Sandholm. Over the next several laps Sandholm and Lemirande became engaged in a fierce battle for the lead. On lap fifteen, Lemirande took command and stayed out in front the rest of the way to capture his fourth win of the season. Lemirande is the only driver to have more than one win in the division this season. Sandholm followed Lemirande across the line for second. Jay Schraufnagel of Beaver Dam drove to third. Steve Mueller of Mukwonago came home fourth. Brian Crapser of Brookfield took fifth. It was the best finish of the season for both Mueller and Crapser.
Don Sorce Jr. of West Allis slipped past Todd Ascherien of Beaver Dam on lap fourteen to take over the lead and go onto his third win of the season in the 20-lap The Mortgage Guys Grand Nationals A-Main. Roger Lee of Wind Lake finished a close second. Steve Seitz of Beaver Dam ran near the front most of the race and finished in third. Todd Ascherien followed in fourth ahead of Brian Gerber of Waupun.
Jon Schultz of Waunakee picked up his first win of the season in a hard fought Dodge Central Credit Union Stocks Division A-Main. Schultz is the third different winner in the division this season. Roger Frank of Beaver Dam, who started the event alongside Schultz in the fifth row, pressured Schultz and finished a close second. Early race leader, Brent Lepple of Beaver Dam drove to third ahead of Matt Bedker of Beaver Dam and Dan Troyan of Menomonie Falls.
In the exciting 20-lap Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legends/Wisconsin Legends Racing Dirt Series A-Main, Brad Weber of Rolling Prairie earned the trip to victory lane after first dueling it out with Joel Wyttenbach of Sauk City and then dicing back and forth with Eric Barth of Sauk City. It was the third win of the season for Weber in the event that also served as an INEX Legends Regional Qualifier. Barth finished right behind Weber for second. Bethany Wyttenbach of Plain had a strong run as she drove to third. Joey Johnson of Slinger followed in fourth. Brian Peterson of Mukwonago was fifth.
In a three car battle right down to the wire, Aaron Stolp of West Allis emerged the victor in the 20-lap Wally’s Auto Dirt Devils A-Main. Stolp took over the lead on lap two and then battled it out with Matthew Janke of Mequon most of the way. Shaun Diebert of West Milwaukee chipped away at the margin held by Stolp and Janke and became a serious threat for the top spot in the closing laps. On the final lap the trio drag raced out of turn four with Stolp edging out both Janke and Diebert at the line. It was the third win of the season for Stolp. Finishing in fourth behind Stolp, Janke and Diebert, was Tim Draheim of Beaver Dam. Kevin Allard of Brandon was fifth.
In action in the modified division earlier in the evening, B-Main wins were recorded by Eddie Lemay Jr. of Milwaukee, Don Scheffler of Wauwatosa and Russ Reinwald of Iron Ridge. Heat race wins went to Tim Lemirande, Larry Zirbel, Frank Firari of Lowell, Mike Sandholm, Dave Schoenberger of Beaver Dam and Brian Crapser.
Eric Grunst of Beaver Dam and Dan Schumacher of Milwaukee were victorious in the grand national division heats. Stocks heat race wins were registered by Matt Bedker, Roger Frank and Jon Schultz. Legends heat wins went to Warren Ropp of Kalona, IA, Brad Weber and Eric Barth. The dirt devils division heat race wins were taken by Aaron Stolp and Shaun Diebert.
