Dave Schoenberger of Beaver Dam drove to victory in the 20-lap Johnsonville Brats Modifieds A-Main on Saturday night at Charter Raceway Park on Andy’s Roofing Night at the Races/WXRO, Rechek’s Food Pride, Waupun Truck-n-Show Night. Schoenberger started the event inside row six and picked his way up through the traffic to take lead away from Russ Reinwald of Iron Ridge on lap five. A late race caution on lap seventeen set up a three lap dash to the end. Schoenberger was strong on the restart and remained out in front the rest of the way to take the checkered flag. In picking up his first win, Schoenberger became the sixth different driver to win an A-Main event in the division this season. Reinwald finished in second ahead of Tim Lemirande of Verona. Don Scheffler of Wauwatosa came all the way from the seventeenth starting position to finish in fourth. Eddie Lemay Jr. of Milwaukee also had a good run as came from row eight to finish in fifth.

In the Mortgage Guys Grand National Division, Roger Lee of Wind Lake took over the lead from Steve Seitz of Beaver Dam on lap ten to become the fifth different leader in the 20-lap event. There would be no more lead changes as Lee cruised to his sixth win of the season. Don Sorce Jr. of West Allis drove to second. Will Sorce of Franklin ran strong and finished in third. Seitz followed in fourth. Brian Gerber of Waupun, who lead briefly in the early going, rounded out the top five.

The 20-lap Dodge Central Credit Union Stocks A-Main came right down to the wire as Jon Schultz of Waunakee battled it out with Roger Frank of Beaver Dam. Frank moved passed Jerry Winkler of Oshkosh on lap fifteen to take over the lead. Schultz also slipped past Winkler and then overtook Frank to take the lead on lap sixteen. Schultz and Frank then engaged in a fierce battle for the top spot with Frank making one last bid as the pair exited turn four on the final lap. At the line it was Schultz edging out Frank for the win. Schultz has now won three A-Mains in a row. Winkler followed Schultz and Frank across the line for third. Dan Troyan of Menomonie Falls drove to fourth ahead of Russ Davison of Horicon.

The Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legends/Wisconsin Legends Racing Dirt Series 20-lap A-Main also featured an intense duel that came right down to the checkered flag. Brad Weber of Rolling Prairie quickly moved up from his second row starting position to take the lead on lap one. However, Eric Barth of Sauk City was also on the move as he marched to the front from his fifth row starting position. It wasn’t long and Barth closed in on Weber to set the stage for a thrilling battle for the lead. Barth slipped past Weber on lap ten for his first lead of the event. Weber came back and was out in front on lap eleven. Lap twelve saw Barth in the top spot. He would stay there until lap seventeen when Weber made a move inside of Barth to grab the point. Barth was not done, however, as he diced it out with Weber in the final three laps. As the pair came out of turn four and down the front straight in the race to the checkered flag, Barth edged ahead of Weber as they crossed the line and claimed his second win of the season. Phil Van Tatenhove of Gibbsville followed in third ahead of Joey Johnson of Hartford. Tom Hunter of Merrill had another good run with a fifth place finish.

The Wally’s Auto Dirt Devils Division was not to be outdone by the other divisions for excitement as their 20-lap A-Main also came right down to the wire. Aaron Stolp of West Allis picked up his fourth win in a row and his fifth win of the season when he made the last lap pass on Stephen Lemay of Milwaukee. Lemay, who was looking for his first win, had led from lap two. Shaun Diebert of West Milwaukee followed in third ahead of Brian Budde of Beaver Dam and Doug Draheim of Brookfield.

In preliminary action in the modified division, Don Scheffler and Joey Jaeger of West Bend were victorious in B-Main events. Heat race wins were registered by Larry Zirbel, Russ Reinwald, Tim Lemirande and Mike Meeker of Columbus.

Grand National heat race wins were recorded by Steve Seitz and Roger Lee. Heat race wins in the Stocks division were taken by Roger Frank, Russ Davison and Jim Berkevich of Beaver Dam. Heat wins were also scored by Eric Barth and Brad Weber in the Legends division and by Doug Draheim, Kevin Allard of Brandon and Aaron Stolp in the Dirt Devils division.
