World of Outlaws At a Glance: Charter Raceway Park

WHAT

• With a busy stretch that saw the World of Outlaws compete eight times in a 12-day period now in the books, the drivers and teams will have a few days to catch their breath before heading north to Charter Raceway Park in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin on August 3-4, for the completion of the “SuperClean Summer of Money” on ESPN2. The series has competed at the high-banked 1/3-mile 12 times dating back to 1996, with nine different drivers visiting Victory Lane. Seven current drivers have won at the track, led by Daryn Pittman and Jac Haudenschild with two victories each.

WHEN

• On Friday, August 3 at Charter Raceway Park pit gates will open at 2 p.m., with grandstand gates opening at 3 p.m. and hot laps set for 6 p.m.

• On Saturday, August 4 at Charter Raceway Park pit gates will open at 2 p.m., with grandstand gates also opening at 2 p.m. and hot laps set for 6 p.m.

WHERE

• Charter Raceway Park is located in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Travel 0.4 miles east of U.S. 151 on SR 33, then south on Raceway Road.

TICKETS

• On Friday, August 3 at Charter Raceway Park adult admission general admission tickets will be $25 in advance and $30 the day of the race. Adults reserved tickets will be $30 in advance and $35 the day of the race. Pit pass combos will also be available for will $35 in advance or $40 the day of the race.

ON TELEVISION

• The World of Outlaws “SuperClean Summer of Money” on ESPN2 continues on Sunday, July 29 with the event from K-C Raceway in Ohio on Saturday, July 28. The race will air on Sunday, July 29 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern, 11:00 a.m. Central. This will be the seventh of eight consecutive broadcasts for the World of Outlaws on ESPN2.

The World of Outlaws will be televised 20 times this season on ESPN2 and SPEED while the World of Outlaws Late Model Series is set for six appearances on SPEED. The one-hour broadcasts will air on Sundays from May 13 to Nov. 4, when the series champions will be crowned during the World Finals from The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Six World of Outlaws Late Model Series events this season will also be televised on the SPEED cable network. With two races having already aired, the next Late Model broadcast, on Sunday, Aug. 19, at 1 p.m. Eastern, 12 p.m. Central, will feature coverage of the July 27 event from Eldora Speedway in Ohio.

• Charter Raceway Park is a high-banked 1/3-mile oval. The track record of 11.275 was established by Daryn Pittman in 2001.
