Charter Raceway Park in Beaver Dam hosted the High Speed Holiday Series on Monday night. The event featured the Mortgage Guys Grand Nationals, the MSA Sprints and the Wisconsin-Illinois Mini-Sprints.
In the 25-lap Mortgage Guys Grand Nationals A-Main, Jestin Danes of New Holstein grabbed the lead from his outside front row starting position. Following a couple of cautions, Danes again led the field on the lap three restart. Roger Lee of Wind Lake quickly moved up from the third row and began to challenge Danes for the lead. On lap eight, Lee powered his way into the top spot where he remained the rest of the way in claiming his seventh win of the season at the raceway. Kenny Richards of Montello came across the line in second followed by Don Sorce Jr. of West Allis. Jestin Danes took the fourth position. Jeremy Sauter of Random Lake came back from an early race incident to finish in fifth.
Jeremy Sauter won the grand nationals B-Main while heat race victories were claimed by Kenny Richards, Brad Mueller of Random Lake, Roger Lee and Jestin Danes.
Brian Kristan of Zion, IL moved out in front on lap twenty-three of the 25-lap MSA Sprint A-Main when leader Brad Kuhn of Avon, IN slowed and came to a halt with engine failure in turn four. Following the restart, Kristan led the final two laps to pick up the win. Lance Fassbender of Burnett drove to second ahead of Troy Wondra of Campbellsport. Early race leader, T.J. Luedke of Plymouth drove to fourth. Danny Schlafer of Sussex was fifth.
MSA B-Main action saw Tim Haddy of Waupun and Rob Pribnow of Mayville pick up wins. Danny Schlafer, Jason Lax of Kiel, Brad Kuhn and Leroy Ostrowski of Milwaukee were victorious in the heats. Joe Wipperfurth of Sun Prairie paced the field in qualifying turning a lap in 13.275.
John Draper of Bryant led from start to finish in capturing the Wisconsin-Illinois Mini-Sprint A-Main. Tim Brannam of McHenry, IL finished in second. Ron Brannam of Barrington, IL drove to third ahead of Nick Sheridan of Fox Lake, IL and Tom Brown of Wonder Lake, IL.
Mini-Sprint heat race wins were recorded by Tim Brannam and Randy Reed of Spring Grove, IL.
