Mike Sandholm of Oconomowoc captured his fourth win of the season as he drove to the win in the 20-lap Johnsonville Brats Modifieds A-Main at Charter Raceway Park on Saturday night on ABC A Branovan Company Night & Boelter Consulting Night. Sandholm, who started in the fifth row, moved in on leader Steve Mueller of Mukwonago at the halfway point of the race. The second half of the race featured the fierce battle between Mueller and Sandholm with Sandholm emerging the victor followed closely by Mueller. Eddie Lemay Jr. of Milwaukee also challenged for the lead and finished in third. Craig Priewe of Beaver Dam drove to fourth. Joe McGrath of Neosho came from the sixteenth starting position to take fifth.
Tim Lemirande of Verona clinched the Modified track championship with his ninth place finish. Lemirande also won championships in the 2002 and 2003 seasons.
Tommy Moore of Muskego took over the lead on lap seven and then held off the challenges of Roger Lee of Wind Lake over the final thirteen laps to pick up his first win of the season in the 20-lap The Mortgage Guys Grand Nationals A-Main. Dan Schumacher of Milwaukee also ran strong and finished in third. Todd Ascherien of Beaver Dam led a couple of laps early in the event and finished in fourth. Ron Koenig of Fox Lake, who moved over from the stocks division as few weeks ago, had his best finish to date crossing the line in fifth.
Roger Lee clinched his second consecutive Grand National track championship.
In the Dodge Central Credit Union Stocks division, Jerry Winkler scored his sixth win of the season. Winkler inherited the lead with two laps to go when leader Roger Frank of Beaver Dam was sent into the wall on the back chute after being hit by Jim Berkevich of Beaver Dam. Frank was unable to continue in the event due to the damage to his car. Berkevich was sent to the pits as well. Brent Lepple of Beaver Dam followed Winkler across the line to claim the second spot. Nathan Gross of Hartford had his best race of the season as he drove to third. Dan Troyan of Menomonie Falls followed in fourth. Matt Bedker of Beaver Dam was fifth.
Jerry Winkler holds an eighteen point lead over Jon Schultz and a thirty-six point lead over Dan Troyan going into the final points race of the season.
Brad Weber of Rolling Prairie won a hard fought battle with Eric Barth of Sauk City to score his fifth win of the season at Charter Raceway Park in the 20-lap Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legends/Wisconsin Legends Racing Dirt Series A-Main. Joey Johnson of Hartford drove another strong race as he finished in third ahead of Warren Ropp of Kalona, IA. Kevin Brill of Oostburg made his first appearance of the season and charged from the fifteenth starting position to place fifth.
Eric Barth holds a nineteen point advantage over Brad Weber with one point race remaining.
Doug Draheim of Brookfield took over the lead on lap five and never looked back as he went onto score his second win of the season in the 20-lap Wally’s Auto Dirt Devils A-Main. Matthew Janke of Mequon drove to second followed by Stephen Lemay of Milwaukee. Shaun Diebert of West Milwaukee finished in fourth. Early race leader Kevin Allard of Brandon took the fifth position.
Shaun Diebert leads Aaron Stolp by seven points going into the point finale on Saturday night.
Joe McGrath and Mitch McGrath of Neosho were victorious in the Modified B-Mains. Heat race wins were registered by John Stanton of Reeseville, Eddie Lemay Jr., Russ Reinwald of Iron Ridge, Brian Crapser of Brookfield and Mike Sandholm.
Grand National heat race wins were recorded by Brian Gerber of Waupun and Roger Lee. The Stocks division heats were claimed by Jim Berkevich and Jerry Winkler. Victories in the Legends heats went to Brad Weber, Eric Barth and George Giesen of Neenah. Heat race action in the Dirt Devils division saw Doug Draheim and Shaun Diebert drive to wins.
