Charter Raceway Park 4-28-07

The second of two inspection/practice days at Charter Raceway Park in Beaver Dam, WI took place on Saturday April 28. Over sixty cars representing nine different divisions were on hand as drivers and crews used the opportunity to get their cars inspected and cleared for competition and then take to the fast 1/3-mile clay oval. With the competition growing more intense each season the track practice time as proven to be a valuable tool for teams to get their cars prepared for the season and perhaps give them an edge on the rest of the competition. In the 2006 season, championships in all five of the regular divisions came down to the final A-Main of the season. With that in mind, the drivers are well aware that getting off to a good start is important if they are going to be in the points chase at the end of the season.

Representatives from Charter Communications, Johnsonville Sausage, Coca-Cola Enterprises of Wisconsin and Badger Popcorn & Concession Supply Company of Madison participated in the Open House held in the VIP Room for the fans, drivers and crews.

With the inspection/practice days over, the excitement is high in anticipation of the first racing event of the season on Saturday night May 5. The five regular divisions at Charter Raceway Park consisting of the Johnsonville Brats Modifieds, Grand Nationals, Dodge Central Credit Union Stocks, Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legends/Wisconsin Legends Racing Dirt Series and the Wally’s Auto Dirt Devils will be in action. Racing is slated to get under way at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday night May 12, the World of Outlaw Late Models invade Charter Raceway Park in an event that will also feature the Johnsonville Brats Modified Division. Gates will open at 3:00 p.m. with racing action beginning at 6:30 p.m. For ticket reservations and information, call (920) 887-1600.

A special three race High-Speed Holiday Series with the MSA Sprints, Grand Nationals and Illinois Mini-Sprints in action is scheduled for May 28, July 3 and September 3.

The IRA Outlaw Sprints and the Badger Midgets will team up for events scheduled on June 2 and July 14. The IRA sprints will also run on September 1 along with the Johnsonville Brats Modifieds.

The World of Outlaw Sprints will return for a big two-day show slated for Friday August 3 and Saturday August 4. The Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legends will also be in action for both days.
