Tim Lemirande of Verona drove to victory in the 20-lap Johnsonville Brats A-Main on Star Country 96.3 Night at Charter Raceway Park on Saturday night. Lemirande picked his way through the traffic from his sixth row starting position and then used the outside groove to take the lead away from Eddie Lemay Jr. of Milwaukee on lap twelve. Despite two cautions in the later stages of the event that bunched up the field, Lemirande proved too strong to beat as he claimed his third win of the season. Lemay finished second after battling it out with Frank Firari of Lowell. Jay Schraufnagel of Beaver Dam came all the way from the twenty-first starting position to take fourth. Early race leader, Adam Reed of Beaver Dam, finished in fifth.
Roger Lee of Wind Lake captured the 20-lap The Mortgage Guys Grand National Division A-Main. Lee needed just seven laps to move up from his fifth row starting position to take the lead from Dan Schumacher of Milwaukee. It was clear sailing for Lee after that point as he cruised to the checkered flag. Tim Doehling of Winneconne, in his first appearance of the season, moved up from the sixth row to finish in second. Tommy Moore of Muskego drove to third ahead of Dan Schumacher and Nick Schumacher of Eagle.
With the Jim’s County Line Tavern of Oshkosh bounty on Jerry Winkler now up to $200, the rest of the field for Dodge Central Credit Union Stocks Division 20-lap A-Main were ready to turn it up a notch to keep Winkler out of victory lane. But Winkler was ready for them as he rocketed from his fourth row starting position to take the lead on lap three. It would not be an easy win for Winkler, however, as several cautions kept the field close. Winkler proved to be too tough and drove to his fifth win in as many races. Brent Lepple of Beaver Dam drove to second ahead of Jerry Kope of Oshkosh. Jimmy Berkevich Jr. of Altus, OK followed in fourth. Barry Cates of Greenfield was fifth.
Eric Barth of Sauk City became the third different winner of the season in the Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legends/Wisconsin Legends Racing Dirt Series. Barth took over the lead at the halfway point of the event and never gave up the top spot in registering his first win of the season. Joel Wyttenbach of Sauk City tried to put the pressure on Barth, but had to settle for second as Barth was too strong running the inside groove. Phil Van Tatenhove of Gibbsville had another strong run as he drove to third. Early race leader, Greg Hartlaub of Sheboygan Falls, came across the line in fourth. Don Gillham of Sun Prairie had his best finish in taking the fifth spot.
Tim Draheim of Beaver Dam led from start to finish to record his first win of the season in the 20-lap Wally’s Auto Dirt Devils Division A-Main. Draheim is the fifth different winner in the division this season. Aaron Stolp of West Allis, who started in the back, came on strong at the end to finish in second. Eddie Lemay III of Milwaukee drove to third ahead of Stephen Lemay of Milwaukee and Shaun Diebert of West Milwaukee.
Modified B-Main wins were registered by Jim Zdroik of Big Bend, Mike Sandholm of Oconomowoc and Joey Jaeger of Slinger. Heat wins went to Russ Reinwald of Iron Ridge, Dylan Koltz of Beaver Dam, Adam Reed, Tim Lemirande, Frank Firari and Eddie Lemay Jr.
Curt Beek of Waupun, Jason Fish and Tim Doehling were victorious in the Grand National heats. Heat race wins in the Stocks division were recorded by Brent Lepple and Jerry Winkler. Legends heat wins were taken by Brad Weber of Rolling Prairie and Eric Barth. In Dirt Devils heat race action, Eddie Lemay III and Tim Draheim drove to wins.
