Friday, December 14, 2007 (Cambridge, WI) – RK Race Promotions along with the Big 8 Series has announced that the Limited Late Model series will be a part of the 4th Annual All-Star Challenge event on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Madison International Speedway in Oregon, WI. The Series will run in support of the Super Late Model event that will feature NASCAR Nextel Cup Champions Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart.
“This is great honor for the Big 8 Series,” Gregg McKarns, Big 8 Series Promoter recently stated. “Our competitors will have a great opportunity to compete in front of a large crowd, probably the largest crowd since the Series started. We appreciate and thank Roy Kenseth for allowing the Big 8 Series to be a part of his great event.”
Roy Kenseth, Promoter of the All-Star Challenge event, has been watching the Big 8 Series evolve into a popular racing series in the Midwest. Last October, his 14-year-old grandson, Ross Kenseth, competed in his first Big 8 Series event at the famous Oktoberfest Race Weekend. The third generation driver captured the “Faster than a Speeding Bullet” fast time award and went on to a fourth place finish in the 40-lap feature event. He will also be competing at the June 24, 2008 event as well in a Pathfinder Chassis prepared Limited Late Model.
“This is a very competitive series,” Roy Kenseth stated. “The competition was great at Oktoberfest and they had 10 different winners in their 10 events last year. It cannot get more competitive than that. We look forward to having the Big 8 Series as part of the All-Star event.”
The Big 8 Series will be competing on the fast half-mile oval with the length of the feature to be announced at a later date.
