Big 8 Series Forms Minor’s Eligibility Panel
Loves Park, IL- Big 8 Series officials have formed a Minor’s Eligibility Panel for approval of those drivers ages 14-15 that would like to participate in Big 8 Series competition during the 2008 race season. The panel will consist of both track promoters and veteran drivers whom will review a driver’s resume prior to allowing them to partake in race day activities.
Those drivers between the ages of 14 and 15 that would like to have their eligibility reviewed by the panel are asked to submit a resume to the Big 8 Series offices at P.O. Box 1000, Rockford, IL 61105 or fax it to 815-654-8360. “We would like the up and coming stars of the industry to consider the Big 8 Series, meanwhile we want to ensure that they are ready to take this step in their career.” Stated Big 8 Series organizer Gregg McKarns. In addition, these drivers will be required to purchase a Supplemental Participant Accident Program Policy through Motorsports Corporation of North American MCNA (www.MCNAracing.com or 888-815-8765), as well as complete all necessary minor release forms as required by each individual venue.
Resumes should include driver’s name, birth date, contact information, divisions previously competed in, oval tracks they have competed at including length and surface, racing accomplishments and a current late model driver/car owner as a reference including phone number. Upon receipt of the resume, the panel will respond to the applicant with in ten days, applicants may be required to undergo an on-track evaluation at that time.
The 2008 Big 8 Series season begins on Sunday afternoon April 13 at Rockford Speedway and includes stops at Madison International Speedway, Golden Sands Speedway, Wisconsin International Raceway and Jefferson Speedway with the 2008 Champion being crowned during Oktoberfest Race Weekend at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway on Thursday October 2.
