Scott Dahlberg readies his Great Lakes Components Late Model for Back Home 100.
Burlington, Wisconsin. businessman, Scott Dahlberg has prepared his Great Lakes Components 2007 red and silver No.7S Chevrolet Monte Carlo for Tim Sauter to drive in the Back Home 100. The American Speed Association Midwest Tour event will take place at the Dells Raceway Park on Tuesday, June 12th. At least six NASCAR drivers, all with strong Wisconsin ties are scheduled to compete in the event.
Already preparing Sauter's ride (in anticipation of the ASA event) Dahlberg and his team, shook down the car on Saturday, June 2 with Jeff Storm in the seat for Dahlberg at DRP. The start of the Feature, had fans seeing double as it was an all Great Lakes Components starting front row, with a pair of matched Dahlberg Chevrolets leading the way.
La Crosse racing legend, Don "Thunder" Turner sat on the outside of the front row in Dahlberg's regular DRP car. Storm had the Pole, giving Great Lakes Components and all of Dahlberg's associate sponsors a double dose of exposure. Driving the car Turner set up, Storm finished a strong second to Iowa's Ken Reiser. Turner just missed a top-five, finishing sixth in the 50-lap Feature.
"This is a great chance for us to provide our sponsors with some exposure, they never bargained for," said Scott Dahlberg, adding, "For Late Model fans, this will be one of Wisconsin's biggest races this year. Having our Great Lakes Components team involved, especially with a past Dells track Champion and a driver of Tim Sauter's caliber, is something we are really looking forward to. The excitement of an event like this is what draws us to short track racing."
