Standard Electric Night at WIR, featuring Big Wheel Races !!!!
Thursday, August 6th FRRC hosts another week of Thursday Night Thunder....
Last week in the Late Model Division it was the second time in victory lane for the Bob's Inn #80 ride of Nate Van Wychen. He held of yet another strong outing from #18 Robb Vanderloop as well as all the other top guns in the Late Model Division. "Lightning" Lowell Bennet took advantage of #45 JVO's bad luck and has now closed the gap to just 5 markers. This points championship looks to surely be heading for an exciting finish. Vanderloop is all the way up to 6th place in the season standings. #98 Kevin Eggert has also been doing very well in his first full season. #3 John Meidam made his triumphant return and won his heat race and finished a respectable 8th place in the feature event.

In the LLM Division it was....yes.....again...Duchow and Kelly finishing in first and second. #7 Terry Miller finally got Lil" Orbits to give out some free donuts by winning his heat race. A surprise visit from young #17 Tanner Berryhill from Oklahoma who turned his first laps around the big 1/2 mile dogleg was another footnote to a great night of racing.

A great battle in the SS feature between car number #4 Hauser, #30 Baumann and #3 Wenzel had the crowd on their toes. This was one of the most exciting races of the season. Baumann took home the win. Young #93 David Satorius and veteran #90 Denny Crass also rounded out the top 5 with great runs of their own.

No Sizzlin' 4 driver claimed the bounty again last week, which now becomes a $120 bonus. Therefore, if a driver is able to pull off this feat (winning BOTH 15 lap features), they will take home a whopping $200, which is more than winning the SS feature....

In the crazy train figure eight division, it was #00 Craig Vande Wettering following up last week's bridesmaid finish with a victory. Craig must be "butter", because he is on a roll recently...A hearse Figure Eight vehicle showed up driven by #13 Jeff Wholrabe. That car is too pretty to be in that division..I cringed every time it crossed the "x"
