So far we have given out 4 bikes, 3 $100 gift certificates, 3 Busch race tickets, 2 Packer Tickets, a Nascar coat, 2 Famlyland tickets, 4 Timber rattler tickets, 8 Checkered Flag Racing News Subscriptions, 10--8x10 enlarged photographs posing by race cars, as well as 40 door prize packages, consisting of free hamburger coupons, Hoosier hats, race car T-shirts, go kart passes, as well as several other prizes. We have also given out 7 One Night Stays for the Holiday Inn Select, courtesy of Fox River Racing Club. We pick the prize winners each week one week ahead of time and call them to make sure they will be present to collect their prizes. Several of them were NOT planning on coming out, but changed their plans when they learned that their child had won a prize.

We have a total of 161 kids enrolled in our club thus far. The best part of the way we enroll, is that they do not need to re-sign up each year. Once they sign up they are in the club until they graduate out at age 13. This is also a great database for some of the die-hard FRRC race fans and their families.

We have 5 more weeks left and have just about enough prizes to get us through this year. We will be having some type of get-together at the season's end to try to secure prizes for the next year. We have some new ideas, such as T-shirts, and other ways to get kids more involved and excited about the races. We may also be working together with WalMart for Kids Safety Day coming up in October of this year.

All in all it was a LOT more work than I expected when I started the idea of the club last year, but when Jodie stepped in and took over runnning the club on Thursdays, it really blossomed into what it has become today. Gayla Mundy and Shana Parker have also assisted Jodie in organizing the prize winners and getting new kids to enroll in the club. I had a lot of help from other Fox River Racing Club members in rounding up additional prizes as the season went on.

So, as you can see this club has become a big success. We hope to continue it next year and for years to come. I have to chuckle at some of the nay-sayers that said a club like this could not succeed. We proved them wrong, and continue to each week that we give out our prizes. I also see on racingonline several other tracks are trying similar stategies, such as kids night, bike giveaways, and other ways of trying to attract families to their shows.
