Appleton Memorial Shaping up! The $5000 to win Appleton Memorial on Sunday, August 8th is still adding to it's purse and contingencies. "The sponsorship keeps piling in and we are putting everything into the race", states Appleton Rack and Pinion owner Fred Appleton. For a race only being 100 laps this is definetly a racers race when it comes to the pay, and wear and tear on a car, states Appleton.

We are looking at bumping up the starting positions to 26 and possibly adding a champions provisional, making it 27. Some of the highlights about the race are the added bonuses and contingencies. The top six will earn qualifying money starting at $500. The racer who passes the most cars (hard charger) will earn a special bonus from Artgo2 Promotions and Oktoberfest at Lacrosse for $500.

2nd place is paying $3000, 5th place is paying $1000 and it is $500 to start the event so that should not be overlooked. This is the kind of race the drivers have been asking for so we'll see how they respond to the oppurtunity. We enjoyed having Mike Lumpy Lemke down for an earlier event and he did a very good job for us. We are having him back again to do the Appleton race for us.

The Appleton is not the only race on the card as the Mid-American cars will be competeing for $800 to win in a 50 lap event. The traveling series' are off on that weekend and it should make for an awesome event. "These cars put on one heck of a show and by the looks of things with the entries we are receiving it will be an Allstar Midam series race copy", says Appleton.
