Sauk Centre, MN (June 1, 2005) - Mid-American Stock Car, Inc. in partnership with ADVANTAGE Motorsports Marketing Inc., and I-94 Raceway will join forces this weekend to cover the races in a truly unique fashion as the Midwest All-Star Racing Series (MARS) and Mid-American Truck Series invade the speed-plant in the center of Minnesota.
A web cam will be featured this weekend for fans and supporters of the two series to watch action on the track LIVE during the race events. The camera will be set up on Thursday for the practice sessions during the evening, and left up throughout the weekend. The camera will be available on both the MARS (asl-midamracing.com) and the I-94 Raceway (i94raceway.com) web sites.
The web cam is not new for fans of I-94 Raceway. The camera was available at every event in 2004, and has been at every event attended at I-94 Raceway by ADVANTAGE in 2005.
New to I-94 Raceway this season is the AMB Transponder System. A timing and scoring tool for the track and teams to use. This new system will be in place this weekend to score the 100 lap MARS Late Model Event.
I-94 Raceway recently added a Wireless Signal Booster that covers the pit area and tech shed. This wireless coverage gives teams the ability to monitor their race in real time with a lap top and a wireless card through the R-Monitor software available at the track. Teams no longer have to rely on a stop watch to see their fastest times on the track.
LIVE Results from the scoring system will be posted to the Midwest All-Star Racing Series web site (asl-midamracing.com) during the event. The results will be available immediately from the scoring computer and posted for those who cannot attend the race.
I-94 Raceway has been a leader in race facility technology. When the Olson Family purchased the track in 2001, they have embraced the technological aspects of running a race night. From their website (i94raceway.com), high speed internet, transponder system and the new wireless coverage for teams in the pit area, the facility is truly a track in the 21st century.
Pits open for competitors at 2:30PM for the five divisions competing. Practice begins at 2:40PM. Qualifying for the Midwest All-Star Racing Series (MARS) late models and Mid-American Truck Series begins at 6PM. The first race of the night on the 3/8 mile paved track begins at 7PM.
