IRA 3-STATE TRIPLE-HEADER THIS WEEKEND
By Paul Pittman
The O'Reilly Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series visits three tracks in three states this weekend, July 20-22.. The 410 winged series kicks off the weekend on Friday as they headline thev Hancock (IA) Fair in Britt. Then Saturday is just east down I-90 to Spring Valley, MN and the high-banked Deer Creek Speedway. Then Sunday's finale takes the tour to southwest Wisconsin and the IRA's first ever show at the LaFayette County Speedway in Darlington.
Mike Reinke captured the Hancock Co. Fair race last year and looks to defend his event, while Travis Whitney is undefeated at Deer Creek having won both of IRA's previous visits in 2005 & 2006. Ironically, the duo who fought to the final checkerd flag to determine last year's IRA Champion are back at it again this year, as two are within single digit points of each other entering this big three race weekend.
Past IRA Champions Scotty Neitzel, John Haeni, Kim Mock, and Donny Goeden will also all be on hand, as will 2-time 07 IRA race winner Steve Meyer. A great 3-way Rookie of the Year battle continues too, as Billy Haffeman, David O'Neal, and Rusel Borland have their own title chase going, all three performing like 410 veterans.
