RAIN SHOWERS CANCEL LUXEMBURG SPEEDWAY RACES
(Luxemburg, WI) Aug. 24 - Pesky rain showers all day Friday forced track officials to cancel the races sponsored by Concrete Finishers at Luxemburg Speedway.
Next Friday night, August 31 Tri County Heating will sponsor championship night at the races. Champions will be crowned in the track's five weekly divisions.
In the IMCA modified division Green Bay's Jared Siefert has mathematically clinched the crown, his first ever at Luxemburg. Siefert currently holds a 69 point margin over 2006 champion Benji LaCrosse of Luxemburg. Greenleaf brothers Jamie and Jesse Colwell stand atop of the IMCA stock car division, with Jamie holding a slim three point lead over Jesse. Pulaski's Rod Snellenberger sits in third, 16 points out of first place.
In the inaugural year for the IMCA northern sportmods, De Pere's Tim Jorgenson sits in pretty good shape, holding a comfortable 29 point edge over veteran Eugene Gregorich of Kewaunee. Lomira's Jesse Kanas holds a 13 point lead over hometown driver Dave De Grave in the IMCA hobby stocks while Suamico's JJ Anderson leads Andy Kleczka by 13 points in the sport four class.
