MIS Cancels Tonight's Racing Program
By John Wells

Promoter Steve Einhaus has announced that tonight's racing program at Madison International Speedway has been cancelled.

Although the track itself received no damage, Einhaus and track owner Terry Kunes felt that out of the respect for those involved in last night's tornado it would be in the best interest to cancel tonight's event.

"We have received reports that some of our race teams, crew members, and fans suffered heavy losses as a result of last night's devastating storm," said Einhaus. He also added that the Oregon Fire and EMS was not going to be available at the track tonight due to mutual aid responsibilities.

Einhaus concluded, "We want to offer our thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by last night's tornado." Racing continues at Madison International Speedway with the First Supply Season Championships next Friday night, August 26.
