Big Plans for Turn Four Kids Club in 2007
Chuck has put together a great program for the 2007 Turn Four Kids Club at MIS. Kids can sign up right now by going to our website and clicking on the Kids Club logo. You'll find a registration form, schedule of events, and much, much more.
Here's a look at what the Turn Four Kids Club will beoffering in 2007:
Recliner Races: Find a recliner and race at MIS on two nights in 2007. The complete rules are posted onour website for the events that are scheduled for June 15, July 6, and August 24th. This should be a lot of fun for the entire family.
Big Wheel Races: Bring those big wheels out to MIS on August 3rd for our annual "Big Wheel" night at the races.
Kids' Coin Drops: Two coin drop events are scheduledfor the 2007 season on May 18th and July 6th.
The MIS Corn Roast is scheduled for August 10th and 17th and proceeds benefit the Kids Club.
Kids will also have the opportunity to be a "Junior Flagman" for a night, be a grand marshal and greet the drivers, and win some great prizes.
"Inside MIS" Debuts in 2007
One lucky Turn Four Kids Club member will have a very exciting night at MIS.
The evening begins with the Kids Club member and his/her family getting a tour of our scoring tower and learning how transponders work, meeting track announcer Scotty Ernst, and more. From there the lucky winners will be escorted to the pits in the MIS pace truck for the drivers' meeting. But that's not all...waving the green flag for the race and then head up to the VIP suites as the entire family will be able to enjoy the races in the air conditioned comfort. To complete the night our lucky winner and their family will be going home with MIS t-shirts.
The best part of the Turn Four Kids club is it's all free to join.
MIS Recognized at McFarland Pinewood Derby
Dave Grueneberg accepted a plaque on behalf of MIS from the McFarland Cub Scouts for the speedway's help in allowing the scouts to raise money last summer. The money the scouts raised helped go towards the purchase a new six lane track that made its debut at the McFarland Lutheran Church on February 10th. Future MIS driver Austin Wells finished fourth overall in the Webelos I division.
McFarland Night Set for May 18th
This season we will be featuring several community nights at the speedway. These nights will allow service organizations within a given community to have an opportunity to raise money. The McFarland Scouts are off and running with this promotion. My fifth grade students will also be assisting in promoting this special night. More updates on this will be coming.
MIS Fall Classic
It's been talked about for years, but now the MIS Fall Classic is on the schedule. This is going to be a great show with the potential for a wide variety of divisions to take to the track. We are looking for suggestions for racing divisions, formats, etc. Please email me at mismedia2@yahoo.com with your suggestions.
MIS Yearbook
I am looking for ideas for the 2007 edition of the MIS Yearbook. If you would be interested in contributing a story please let me know. Contact me at mismedia2@yahoo.com.

Banquet Update
Special thanks to Jake Roth from Miracle Video for all of his work in putting together the banquet video. You can contact Jake at miraclevideo@msn.com if you are interested in purchasing any videos from the 2006 season.
We'd also like to thank Doug Hornickel for all of his work during the 2006 season. Doug's photos from the banquet are now up on our website. You can contact Doug at doogie2@charter.net if you are interested in purchasing any photos.
My favorite quote from the banquet came from none other than Scott Riedner who told everyone in attendance "Thank anyone who ever sponsored a racecar..."
Attention Fans and Racers: Vote for Tim Coley
Our pace truck driver, Tim Coley, needs your help. He has entered a contest to win the chance to be Kasey Kahne's assistant at Darlington. Right now, they are tallying votes for each contestant's video submission on www.kaseykahnedreamjob.com. Please visit this site and vote for Tim each and every day until the contest is over. He really appreciates your help!
That's all for now. Keep those suggestions coming for the 2007 season.
