Here's the latest news from Madison International Speedway. All of us are very excited to get the season going and we are a little more than a month away from the first on-track action.

Please note that REDI in Madison, MPM in Brooklyn, and Wegner Automotive in Markesan are all certified engine rebuilders for the Madison Late Model division.
 
Attention All MIS Weekly Drivers
 
Be sure to go to our website to complete all of your paperwork before the season begins.  You can save a lot of time by doing this now since you won't be allowed to practice until all paper work is completed including sponsor information when you come to the track on April 28th.

2007 Divisional Sponsors Announced

We are pleased to announce that all three weekly divisions will once again have sponsors for the 2007 season. Two long-time partnerships will continue with Weaver Auto Parts sponsoring the Madison Late Models and Rockweiler Insulation sponsoring the Limited Late Models. Back for a second year with the Bandits will be Roto Rooter.

We would also like to welcome Smart Motors Toyota of Madison who will be part of some very exciting happenings at MIS in 2007.
 
MIS 2007 Update
 
The updated 2007 racing schedule for Madison International Speedway truly features something for everyone from competitive weekly racing divisions to a wide variety of special events. “This is going to be a very fun and exciting year at MIS. We will be featuring three solid weekly divisions and some of the finest special events you’ll find at any track in the Midwest,” said promoter Dave Grueneberg.
 
Let’s take a look at an event by event preview of the 2007 racing season at Madison International Speedway.
 
Saturday, April 28th: On track action at MIS gets started with an open practice session for all division from Noon until 5:00 PM.
 
Saturday, May 5th: Open practice day for all divisions from Noon until 5:00 PM.
 
Sunday, May 6th: Season opener featuring the first of two appearances by the Wisconsin Challenge Series. Expect a solid count of super late models to be at MIS to take on the high- banked half mile. Also in action will be the Bandits, Hobby Stocks, and Super Cups all on the quarter mile.
 
Friday, May 11th: The Friday night season opener will feature the Madison Late Models, Limited Late Models, Bandits, Legends, and Bandoleros. It will also be Oregon Scout Night at the races. A special afternoon practice session will take place from 2:00 to 4:00.
 
Friday, May 18th: An action-packed night at the races with the Madison Late Models, Bandits, Mini-Stocks / Short Trackers, and the Big Eight Limited Late Models. This will be a points race for the Limited Late Models. Also on the racing card will be the Wayne’s Custom DIECAST Dash for the Limited Late Models. It will be a big night for kids with the “Kids Coin Drop” and McFarland Cub Scouts Night. Friday,

Friday, May 25th: Kick off a big Memorial Day weekend on Madison’s Lite 102.5 Night with the Madison Late Models, Bandits, and Hobby Stocks on the track. See area pastors take to the quarter mile in the “Faster Pastor” race. Fans will enjoy the special $8.00 ticket price for adults.
 
Saturday, May 26th: The USAR Hooters Pro Cup Northern Division returns to MIS with the Sears Auto Center 200 presented by BF Goodrich Tires. See drivers from across the country take on the half mile at MIS in this exciting event that will feature live pit stops. The Madison Limited Late Models will also be in action.
 
Sunday, May 27th: Rain date for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup event.
 
Friday, June 1st: The Madison Late Models, Limited Late Models, and Bandits will be racing along with the Wayne’s Custom DIECAST Dash for the Limited Late Models. Also see your favorite area sports broadcaster in action in a special race on the quarter mile.
 
Friday, June 8th: Racing action includes the Madison Late Models, Limited Late Models, Bandits, and USST Super Trucks along with a special appearance by the Corvette Club.
 
Friday, June 15th: A full night of racing with the Madison Late Models, Limited Late Models, Bandits, Legends, and Bandoleros. There will also be a special treat for families with “Recliner Races” on the track.

 
Friday, June 22nd: Gordie Boucher presents ourannual fireworks extravaganza. The Madison Late Models, Limited Late Models, and Bandits are on the racing program along with the Wayne’s Custom DIECAST Dash for the Limited Late Models.
 
Tuesday, June 26th: The biggest event of 2007 will be RK Race Promotions First Supply All Star Challenge featuring Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart. This year’s event will be a super late model race. The Legends and Bandoleros will also be racing on the quarter mile. Tickets available at mattkenseth.com.

Wednesday, June 27th: Rain date for All Star Challenge.
 
Friday, June 29th: Construction Labor Management presents the Madison Late Models, Limited Late Models, Bandits, and Hobby Stocks.
 
Friday, July 6th: A variety of events are scheduled including Limited Late Models, Bandits, Mini Stocks / Short Trackers, and USST Super Trucks on the track. The night also includes the Wayne’s Custom DIECAST Dash and desperate housewives night at the races. It will also be the second “Family Recliner” race with adult tickets only $8.00.
 
Saturday, July 7th: The ASA Late Model Northern Series comes to MIS as the traveling stars come to take on the local heroes. The Central States Super Cups will be here too.
 
Sunday, July 8th: Rain date for ASA Late Model Northern Series.
 
Friday, July 13th: Star Country 96.3 / ESPN 1070 /WIBA FM 101.5 present the Madison Late Models, Limited Late Models, Bandits, Legends, and Bandoleros. See local disc jockeys in a special race in the four cylinder cars on the quarter mile.
 
Friday, July 20th: The first ever appearance by the ASA Midwest Tour highlights the racing program with exciting super late model action. Limited Late Models and Bandits will also be racing. A special afternoon practice session will take place from 2:00 until 4:00.

Friday, July 27th: Madison Late Models, Limited Late Models, Bandits, and Hobby Stocks will be racing along with the Wayne’s Custom DIECAST Dash for Limited Late Models.

Saturday, July 28th: Open Wheel Extravaganza with USAC Midgets on the half-mile and the Kenyon Midgets, Ford Focus Midgets, Rascal Outlaws, and Formula Indy Racing Association on the quarter mile. A special practice session will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
 
Friday, August 3rd: Union Laborers 464 presents a 100 lap feature for Super Late Models plus Madison Late Models, Limited Late Models, and Bandits. A special event for the kids will be the return of the “Big Wheel” races.
 
Friday, August 10th: Swiss Colony Night features the Madison Late Models, Limited Late Models, Bandits, Legends, and Bandoleros with a special appearance by the Madison Muscle Mustangs.
 
Friday, August 17th: Madison Late Models, Limited Late Models, and Bandits will be racing along with the Wayne’s Custom DIECAST Dash for Limited Late Models and the second “Faster Pastor” race. Back from 2006 will be the thrilling train race. The Corvette Club will also be here to show off their cars.
 
Friday, August 24th: Madison Late Models, Limited Late Models, Bandits, and USST Super Trucks will be racing. It will also be championship night for our celebrity four cylinder drivers and the championship race for the “Family Recliner” racers.
 
Friday, August 31st: First Supply Season Championship Night presented by Moen (Buy it for looks…buy it for life) featuring a 75 lap feature for Madison Late Models, 40 lap feature for Limited Late Models, and 30 lap features for both the Bandits and Hobby Stocks.
 
Friday, September 7th: The return of the Wisconsin Challenge Series and exciting Super Late Model racing. There will also be Bandits in action along with a trailer race.

Saturday, September 15th: Oregon Chamber of Commerce presents the Big Boy Toy Show (non-racing event)

Friday, September 21st: First Annual MIS Fall Classic

The event will feature Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, Madison Late Models, USST Super Trucks and Area Sportsman on the half-mile along with Hobby Stocks, Mini Stocks / Short Trackers, Bandits, Legends, Bandoleros, and Four Cylinder Enduro cars on the quarter mile.

Recliner Racing Anyone?
 
Chuck West and the Turn Four Kids Club are promising a full schedule of events like you've never seen before at MIS including family recliner races.  Set up that old recliner to race down the front stretch on June 15, July 6, and August 24.  This is going to be a fun event for the entire family.
 
The kids will also be interested to know that "Big Wheel" races return in 2007 on Friday, August 3rd.
 
Celebrity Racing at MIS
 
Due to the popularity of the Faster Pastor race in 2006, MIS is adding an entirely new program of celebrity racing in 2007.  Two Faster Pastor events are scheduled (Friday, May 25 and Friday, August 17) along with the "Battle of the DJs" on Friday, July 13 and area sports broadcasters will take to the quarter mile on Friday, June 1.  At least two more events are going to be scheduled with a championship night set for Friday, August 24th.
 
Wayne's Custom DIECAST Dash Expands to Six Events in 2007
 
Wayne Forsythe of Wayne's Custom DIECAST has been a big supporter of racing for many years and has sponsored the "Dash Series" and "Hard Charger" programs at MIS for the past few years.  This year Wayne has announced that his program for the Limited Late Models will include six events.
