Attention Madison Late Model Drivers / Teams
Important Notice from Technical Director Ken Lund (lundracer22@yahoo.com)
Effective immediately: All crate engines to be used for competition in the Madison Late Model class at MIS this season, must use dyno HP numbers obtained after Jan.1, 2007. Any dyno work done in 2006, during or after the season ended will not be honored for HP verification. The dyno facilities are looking for engines that have been "De-tuned" with the intention of lowering the HP numbers. The dyno facilities will perform the necessary steps needed to bring the engine back to factory specs before any HP verification runs are made. This process could result in additional expense to the engine owner. In addition, any engines found to have been tampered with or altered will need to be repaired before they will be allowed to be HP verified and used in competition. The integrity of the crate engine will be maintained and all factory, cup and cable seals in place.
Note change in Rule #8 under "Engine Specifications"
8. Aftermarket SFI approved engine dampers will be allowed. Fluid type dampers are not permitted.
