Something for Everyone at MIS This Friday Night
Oregon, WI (Monday, June 9, 2008)
Does it get any better than this? Five racing divisions plus the second annual trailer race and Faster Pastor III all in one night!
After back to back rainouts racing will continue this Friday with the Rockweiler Insulation Limited Late Models, Bryden Motors Area Sportsman, Roto Rooter Bandits, Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends, and the Bandoleros all in action. Round two of the Wayne’s Custom DIECAST Dash for the limited late models is also on the schedule. Highlighting the racing program will be the Nicholas' Gift of Hope 40 for the limited late models that will pay $800.00 to the winner and additional purse money to several other finishing positions.
The Nicholas’ Gift of Hope event is in memory of Nick Beinlich, a young driver from Illinois who competed at MIS in 2007 before suddenly passing away in September at the age of eighteen. The Gift of Hope program is committed to drug awareness and prevention and will be asking limited late model drivers to display a special decal this season.
Six area pastors have been nominated through Life 102.5 to compete in the Faster Pastor III event that will find the pastors competing on the quarter mile in Bandit cars. Defending champion Derrick Wright of Lake City Church in Madison will be back to take on the field that includes Ben Davis from River Glen Christian in Waukesha, Mike Tess from Good Shepherd Episcopal in Sun Prairie, Jason Sasse from Community Evangelical Free in Platteville, Eric Wenger from Community of Life in Oregon, Glenn Herschberger from Real Hope Community in Lake Mills, and Bob Turner from River of Life in Portage.
The trailer race will feature trucks pulling boat, snowmobile, utility trailers and even campers all while racing. See the drivers maneuver around the track trying to dodge…or drive through…the trailers that become separated from the trucks This event was featured on national television and is something you don’t want to miss. For those who would like to participate rules are posted on our website.
