MIS E-News Week of July 21, 2008
By John Wells
Here is the latest information from Madison International Speedway.
Looks like good weather for this Friday night as the ASA Late Model Series comes to MIS. This series will bring a talented group of drivers to MIS for the Mayor of Madison 100. Many of the drivers on Friday will be very familiar to you and in many ways it will have a distinctive MIS flavor.
A big thank you to all of the drivers and teams who have supported MIS in 2008 as well as in previous years. A special thank you to all of our fans who come out each week to see the best racing around. Remember to support those who support local racing at MIS.
When you are out and about remember to patronize our sponsors or the drivers' sponsors and be sure to let them know you appreciate their support of local racing. We all need to work together to keep promoting the sport, the teams, and the track.

The ASA Late Model Series Northern Division comes to the speedway on Friday, July 25th for the running of the Mayor of Madison 100. (See complete schedule below)
Eddie Hoffman is the current point leader with New Glarus native Jesse Saunders just two points behind in second place. MIS fans should keep a close eye on ASALMS rookie and MIS Limited Late Model driver Brett Moffitt who is currently in third place. Moffitt has had good success at MIS in just his first season competing here. Several former competitors in the weekly Madison Late Model division will be strong challengers for the win including Jeremy Miller, Dave Gentile Jr., Troy Hintzsche, and Brent Brevak.
Keep your eyes on some of our regulars who may not run the ASALMS regularly such as Nathan Haseleu, Bobby Wilberg, and others. Or how about young drivers such as Michael Bilderback and former MIS Legends champion Blake Brown?

Friday Night Review
Congratulations to feature winners Scott Broughton, Tory Bagley, Chester Ace, Max McNamara, and Kyle Stark.
LLM: Two for two in weekly shows for Scott Broughton who became the first two-time winner in 2008 by winning the 50 lap feature. The feature was split into two, 25 lap segments with an invert after the first segment. Ryan Carlson, the leader after 25 laps, rolled a two meaning it would just be a two car invert. Several caution flags marred the event with the worst coming late in the race when several cars piled up behind the leaders on the restart. Mark Miller suffered the worst of the damage. Mark has been a loyal supporter of MIS over the years and we hope he can get everything back together.
Area Sportsman: More carnage in this event as the race was cut back to fifteen laps after only five cars were still running. For the second week in a row, a driver making his first visit of the season to MIS, won the race with Tory Bagley taking the checkered flag.
Legends: Its been a two car race for the points lead this season with Alex Arelano and Max McNamara trading off feature wins. Unfortunately for Arelano, he would be unable to answer the call for the feature after having problems in the heat race. Blake Brown and McNamara put on a good battle before a fire ball came out of Browns car ending his night and the race was called after seventeen laps.
Bandits: Two in a row for Chester Ace who added to his point lead with the win. Ace now has three wins for the season. Another solid run by Kyle Padfield who is closing in on his first feature win at MIS.
Hobby Stocks: Eight hobby stock drivers made the trip to MIS with Kyle Stark winning their twenty lap feature. Look for the Hobby Stocks to be back at MIS very soon.

The Chaplains Corner
By Todd Christopherson
We just continue to have great racing at MIS.
I was thinking about the paint schemes on the cars. We have a lot of super sponsors of cars and the track and we are thankful of them. None of the race can happen without them. On Saturday I read this great section of Scripture 2 Cor 1:21-22 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. (from NIV). The owners and sponsor have their seals on the cars. We must have Jesus seal on our live to get to heaven. Just as a sponsor is going to direct where to race and we have to race/live in Gods terms. We have to come to Him on His terms to know we are going to get to victory lane heaven. So have you done that? Have you said to the LORD, I come to You on Your terms, I admit to sin, I repent (turn from) sin, set aside sin for You? Have you called out and agree with the Father that Jesus is LORD? We can stand firm in Christ and in life if we have accepted the gift of salvation on His terms.
I pray you have.
If I can answer a question from this or you want to contact me, feel free to. Otherwise see you at the track and have a great day racin in the SONshine
Todd
PS ~ I also want to say thank you to Doug, Julie, John and Andy for Saturday at WIR. The Mid Am are a good group to hang out with and their racing is good. It was cool to see a Shear winning at WIR again.
Thats all for this week. See you at MIS on Friday night, July 25th.
