KYLE BUSCH ENTERS ECHO CHAINSAW 100 AT MIS
By: Kevin Ramsell
BURLINGTON, WI (Thursday, April 24, 2008) - ASAMT officials have just confirmed that one of the hottest drivers in all of racing will be at the next ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment event. Kyle Busch has entered the ECHO Chainsaw 100 event on Sunday, May 4th at Madison International Speedway.
Last year, Kyle finished sixth in the event that was won by Brandon Hill. Busch also told officials that he will be competing at the ASAMTs July 20th event at Iowa Speedway and the August 24th Wisconsin All-Star 100 with Matt Kenseth at The Milwaukee Mile. And will also defend his ASAMT win at Wisconsin International Raceway on Tuesday, August 5th.
"We want to run some short track stuff this year and the ASAMT seems to be the place to be right now, Busch stated. The Midwest is tough, so we decided head up to Madison and redeem our 6th place finish last year.
"The biggest thing I'm looking forward is to being able to go to Madison and just have fun, bring the car and run a Sunday twilight show at MIS," Busch remarked. "We had a great run there last year, learned some new things that we can hopefully bring back and have another decent run and race well with the rest of the ASAMT competitors. When I go to race at an ASAMT event, I know I am racing with the best."
Busch appreciates how the ASAMT allows the local competitors to race with the touring competitors, "This is a great deal. It brings a lot of the local teams in as well as the touring series teams. So it's definitely a lot of fun to see the different faces, the different equipment and things like that, its always fun."
Kyle and Ritchie (Wauters) called me last night and said that he was coming, and I was pleasantly surprised, Steve Einhaus, ASAMT VP stated. He will race at Richmond on Saturday night and come to MIS on Sunday. This says a lot about our series when the hottest driver in racing wants to come and race with our competitors. It will be an exciting race event. The fans will see the best driver in racing at the moment, the best in Super Late Model racing and the best of the weekly competitors with the Big 8 Series.
Ticket prices for the May 4th MIS event are $17 for ages 12 and up. 11 and under will get FREE admission. Qualifying starts at 2:30 pm. Autograph session at 4:15 pm with racing at 5:00 pm.
