It is with great sadness that we received word that John McKarns died today. John was one who had a great impact on racing throughout the Midwest including at Madison. Our condolences go out to Sue, Gregg, the rest of the family and friends of John. We will be praying for you as you deal with the loss of a husband, father, friend of so many. More than the impact John had on racing was the positive impact he had on so many, many lives. He will be greatly missed.
From 2 Samuel 22 we read: David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said, "The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior- from violent men you save me. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. "The waves of death swirled about me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me. The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called to the LORD; I called out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears. "As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him. "The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God, the Rock, my savior!"
May the one that created Heaven and Earth and all that is in it comfort the McKarns family and their friends. If there is anything I can do to help anyone as they go through this time please contact me.
