Many time modified champion Eddie Muenster enters Super Truck race at Wi. Int. Raceway May 18
KAUKAUNA, WI -- Many time dirt track IMCA Modified champion
Eddie Muenster of Green Bay will make a rare appearance in the Yellow Book USA
Super Truck Series Sunday afternoon, May 18 at the Wisconsin International Raceway
in Kaukauna. Racing begins at 1 p.m. on the half-mile paced D-shaped track.
Three divisions will take to the half-mile track including the super trucks,
Yellow Book USA MARS late models and FRRC limited late models. Muenster last
raced a super truck at WIR in September of 2001 and he finished second behind
Danny Heinritz in the USA Super Truck Nationals. Muenster has won modified track
titles at Luxemburg, Shawano, Manitowoc and Seymour during his dirt racing career.
He is also a former late model rookie of the year at Wisconsin International
Raceway in the late model division.
He will drive a 2002 Chevrolet owned by Roger Perret of Gwinn, MI. The truck has been driven to three series feature wins, twice by Rick Lemmens and once by Scott Hansen. Another driver who will be making his first series appearance this year will be Terry Marzofka of Port Edwards, WI in a 2002 Dodge. Marzofka was the 1997 and 1998 super truck series champion and is running a limited schedule this year.
Other top entries include Bill Prietzel, Franklin, WI; Chad Culp, Oakville, MO; Vince Wilkinson, Sandwich, IL; Donnie Woller, Merrill, WI; Wade Prasil, Cedar Rapids, IA; John Vig, Jr, Shakopee, MN; Tony Holm, Prior Lake, MN; Brad Blenker, Junction City, WI; Art Christoffersen, Toddville, IA and Gary Fredrickson, Lakeville, MN. Local drivers making their first Yellow Book USA Super Truck series start are Gator Trudell of Kaukauna, Jesse Fuller of Manitowoc and Larry Haufschildt of Appleton.
Qualifying begins at 11:30 a.m. Feature race lengths are 100
laps for the late models and 30 laps each for the super trucks and limited late
models. A 15-lap figure 8 race on an inner quarter-mile track will round out
the days events. Preliminary races will be held in all divisions.
