Red, White & Blue Series concludes Saturday along with debut of Midwest Stock Car Classics

KAUKAUNA, WI -- Jeff Van Oudenhoven of Kimberly leads both the Yellow Book USA Midwest AllStar and the Red, White and Blue State Championship Series points going into the next stop in the Yellow Book Series Saturday night, Aug. 23 at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna. Twin 50-lap late model features will top the program which will include the Wisconsin debut of the newly organized Midwest Stock Car Classics League. The league will feature former NASCAR and short track stock cars from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s in twin 15-lap races on the D-shaped half-mile paved oval.

Qualifying starts at 5:15 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. There will be a photo session for fans with the Midwest Stock Car Classics at 6:30 p.m. along the front stretch. A field of over 20 of the collector stock cars is expected for the Kaukauna race. Drivers from Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Miinesota and Michigan should be competing. Other divisions include the limited late models, sizzling 4s and figure 8s to round out five divisions of competition.

The raceway is located at the corner of Highway 55 and County KK, three miles south of Kaukauna. Free camping is offered to fans and race teams. Saturday night's event will conclude the Red, White and Blue Series.

The final three events for the Yellow Book USA MARS late models will be at Elko, MN on Aug. 31, Sauk Centre, MN Sept. 20-21, and Elko, MN Sept. 27.
