SAUK CENTRE, MN (June 5, 2004) - Donnie Woller loves coming to the I-94 Raceway and he has yet another reason to do so as he won the Yellow Book USA MARS Super Truck race. Art Christoffersen and Kyle Bauknecht fought it out on the opening lap, with Bauknecht taking the lead. Christoffersen and John Froelich tangled out of turn two, to bring out the races only caution on lap two. On the restart, Bauknecht had Andy Jirik pressuring him hard. Jirik would move by and take the lead as Woller was quietly working his way to the front. Woller ran down Jirik and on lap 18, he became the new race leader. Shortly after that, Bill Prietzel turned up the heat as he moved to second and began to pressure Woller for the lead. With five laps to go, the leaders touched coming out of turn four. Both drivers maintained control and resumed their close race. Prietzel gave it a final shot on the last lap, but could only pull alongside as Woller crossed the line first to take the win.
At least once a year, Jerry Voigt manages to get at least one win. This time around Voigt accomplished his feat early on in the season as he came out on top in the Bernicks Pepsi Modified Feature. Joey Johnson got the jump on the field as he took the lead from the start. Sixth starting Voigt found a quick way to the front as he took over the top spot on lap two. Once in the lead, Voigt soon opened things up taking a commanding advantage over John Notch. The race ran without a caution as Notch slowly began to chew into Voigts lead. Notch would close the gap to a few car lengths by the time Voigt completed the distance to take the win.
Tim Brockhouse drove hard and came out a winner in the Great North Legends Feature. Scott Brandt took the lead as 28 Legends cars came to life. Rob Thurston moved to second, with Brockhouse, Todd Tracy, Jon Lewerer and Dirk Henry completing the lead pack. Brockhouse would get past Thurston and on lap 10, he took over the lead. A incident with only a couple of laps remaining knocked Doug Petty, Zack Davids, Cam Schafer and Bruce Allen out of the race. In the short dash to the finish, Brockhouse maintained the lead as shot to the win, followed closely by Brandt, Lewerer, Henry and Thurston.
Ace Valencour made a early race charge pay off as he won the Bernicks Pepsi Thunder Car Feature. Lance Steuve got things rolling as he moved into the lead on the opening lap. Sixth starting Valencour turn up the heat as he fought hard and took the lead on lap three. A caution with three laps remaining gave Jarmin Henry a shot at the lead. When the green flew, Valencour wasnt about to give up the spot as he stepped things up to keep Henry a few cars back on his way to the win.
Steve Meagher became a first time winner as he took top honors in the UCAR Feature. Dan Bolstad led the field to the start and quickly made the lead his temporary home. Kevin Messer kept pace for several laps in second, but twelfth starting Meagher was flying through the field. Around the halfway point of the race, Meagher took over second and was soon running alongside of Bolstad. The front pair raced wheel-to-wheel for several laps, before Meagher finally wrestled the spot away with five laps to go. A late caution set up a three lap sprint and Jeremy Fleck came onto the scene as he took second and worked Meagher for the lead. Meagher wouldnt budge holding off Fleck by less than a car length for the win.
